They probably didn’t show Martin because they knew they would get some flak or confrontation from individuals, or have a guilty conscience over the way in which they’ve handled this.

l have it good authority that any accounts with Q have got be at least £5000.00 a year now that maybe hard for some but the larger companies can cope with that… We will all have to work harder as time goes on…… l know it will hard but that’s the times we all live in

Yes I have seen £5000 banded about
its false economy in the end I cannot understand it
if you go self employed and start your own business you will not be able to get an account with Qualtex. So while other suppliers loose a few gain a few Qualtex can only loose over time. Its much harder to get the business later. Also they seem to have let at least one rep go so who is going to get that business.

maybe they are going back to where they came from. I used to buy from a local firm called ESL and they used to source from Qualtex.
ESL no longer exists and the rumour went round that Qualtex helped its demise through pricing structures but they also found after they went into liquidation that one of their most trusted staff had been stealing money. Since the firm was shut overnight with no warning the member of staff in question had no time to cover upThe other main Qualtex supplier to go was Anderson of Derby athough they seem to have started again in a smaller way last time I looked

I used to buy from ESL and they used to sell me washing machines discounted 4 at a time and allowed me to store them in their shop until needed, one day I got a phone call from an employee Charlie who said come and get your washers because they are going bust on the friday, needless to say I was over like a shot and got my washers and they went bust, I was grateful to Charlie because the only other person who told me about it was a rep from BEC who was looking for business.
Anyway, I was reading this thread because I am looking at suppliers and finding that despite having accounts at a few large Wholesalers including Qualtex, I am increasingly buying more from Ebay and some small outlets because as already stated in this thread it is as though many trade sellers are looking to move to selling online to the public, it is kind of embarrassing when you give a quote and the customer tells you that they can get the exact same part cheaper than you, and sometimes much cheaper, the search continues.November 9, 2017 at 11:28 pm #443603electrofix

Have any other ex Masterpart account holders been approached by Qualtex?
Given the contents of this thread I was surprised to be contacted by Qualtex as an ex Masterpart customer and offered a Qualtex account.
Even after I informed the lady on the phone that I am now semi retired and would generate very low sales volumes.
They said that didn’t matter and have sent me application forms?
Jim.

l think in these hard times that maybe Mr Qualtex and his staff have had a rethink on the fact that the dealers they have thrown out were of value to them after all….. l do not know anybody in their right mind getting rid of small accounts as they are the acorns for the future oaks
