Might be an idea to increase the fees that Qualtex Commercial Advertising are paying to WTA as most members have been kicked out they can now pay more … Just a thought !!!!

The banner above has nothing whatsoever to do with the WTA.

I can’t imagine it’s cost effective advertising for them to keep paying to sponsor this page but it’s their money I guess not mine :).

Now why doesn’t that come as a surprise, I think I mentioned that word near the beginning of this thread.

So I’ve been wondering how many more staff have been given the heave ho and which departments.
Stream lining of companies normally happens prior to a take over or sale.

Maybe, maybe not.
Perhaps someone just ran the numbers and decided that having say three of four staff to service accounts generating enough to pay for perhaps only one member of staff just wasn’t worth doing.
From a business perspective, that’d be completely understandable. And, I’d expect that most here would do exactly the same if they found that they weren’t making enough to cover the costs.

It’s happened to me. Odd, because in October a girl from their sales office actually rang me to encourage me ot start using the account again. Told her I was mostly retired due to ill health, but she was quite persistent, so I gave it a go. One time, I even managed to rack up £100 worth of stuff and get the free postage. Yay! Until I put my card through – one item went on back order and the P&P reappeared. Somewhat disingenuous, I thought.
Anyway, they rang up and refunded me £67 a little while ago, shut the account and won’t answer any emails regarding what I’ve actually been refunded for. Thanks a lot.

just cant get Qualtex are coming fom these days
as you say P45 if there is no stock of the item it does not count to the p&p. Their answer is it counts when they have it in stock and you send the next order, If its a special order they send them out on their own but if its a stock item you have to wait for the next order. the silly thing is you dont know they have it in stock till you go to put the oder through and click proceed. so we go through the week trying to get £100 to lose the p&p but when we put the order through there is another £20 of back orders we knew nothing about so we could have ordered earlier
one thing i asked the rep is why not do half p&p at £50. not heard a thing about that
why can connect & maddock quite happily keeps account open for under £1000 a year but Qualtex now seem to want a least £5000, wish i knew
dont want to lose the account but there will come a time when my turnover will drop as i head towards retirementDave

I suspect trade sales have become a pretty small part of most distributors’ turnover and profit.
Having heard reports of redundancy on this thread, I wonder if Qualtex decided to close the smaller trade accounts in order to justify laying off staff. From the gov website:
“For a redundancy to be genuine, you must demonstrate that the employee’s job will no longer exist.”
By closing down smaller trade accounts, they may have been able to demonstrate a need for fewer reps, allowing them to cut costs and increase profits.
Once the dust has settled, I wouldn’t be surprised if within the next year they launch a new non-account internet-only trade website focused on low prices. With a bit of luck it may even undercut their retail websites!

I’m sure the WTA must be disappointed that Qualtex didn’t turn up to the recent conference, especially so as they indicated their intention to attend.
A leading wholesale supplier, much enthused over and indulged throughout the independent trade. Yet fails to make a show at, what is regarded as the mainstay platform for all things white goods.
