Is the price on the store the price to trade Ken?

There’s a small discount available on most things, not huge at all but the margins are so slim it can’t be done but, it can only be applied to a registered account so what you see there is what you pay.
Confusingly to some when any discount is applied it then displays the discounted price to you and doesn’t show the RRP then.
So the answer is, if you’re logged in and have an account with a global discount, yes and if not, no.

The customer will more and more no longer need us. They can buy the part direct from Qualtex through ASW, fit it themselves and do away with us. At the least they will buy or price the part up themselves. So buy from ASW and self destruct. At least Connects own sites leave some margin for the trade on the price they charge the public.

Just found out that my account that I had with Qualtex has also been closed. Had a conversation with one of the management people as I had not received a letter. Frankly, they couldn’t give a s!*t about the smaller business.
I have just found another parts supplier who I will start using.

Hi All
Why don’t you attend the conference in February and see them face to face instead of on the telephone ?

Because they are not going to change their mind or give a damn. The person I spoke too made that quite clear.
I’m also busy on 23 & 24 Feb.

If they closed my account it wouldn’t be a great loss as they aren’t any cheaper than connect nowadays plus I can never build up an order with them, I tend to use Masterpart if I can get stuff from them which is usually cheaper and pay the delivery if I have to and order the rest from connect.

still find connect dear over 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time. they inflate retail to make it look good. they have rung me on various times to try and make me change by altering discounts etc but still not as cheap.Plus the tech centre staff at Qualtex are second to none and you get a quick answer. Connect expect you to email and wait

I had my account closed by Qualtex as I didn’t reach their threshold and to be honest that was their own doing.
I live on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. When I first started my business and I set up my account I could order £100 worth of stock and get free delivery. After my first order I was told it would be changed to £150 or face an £18 delivery charge but the orders were taking up to 14 days to arrive. About 6 months later They upped the threshold again to £250 or £18 delivery and still it was taking up to 2 weeks wait before I had the parts. I asked if they could send my orders Royal Mail as they didn’t charge any extra for delivering to the island and I would see it within 48 hours, I was told no, it was the courier or nothing. I then started to buy from other suppliers for my small orders and only buying from Qualtex for stock items. It took weeks but finally they agreed to send my consignments to a courier depot on the mainland and I could then get it shipped over for half the price and within 2 days.
I stopped buying multiples of everything so I could build up some working capital and only bought what I needed for the jobs I had booked in. For me to buy from Qualtex meant an additional courier delivery charge or pay a premium and wait an age for the parts. not something I could afford to do as I would soon lose customers.Ironically, I had a large £500+ stock order in my Qualtex basket the day I received my letter. I then rang them and spoke to a lovely woman in accounts who was very apologetic but said her hands were tied and it was such a shame as loads of accounts were being axed. I thanked her kindly and transferred my stock order to Connect.
I generally spend more than £500 per month on appliance spares and if Qualtex had been a bit more flexible with their delivery options and courier prices then I would have spent the majority of it with them. However it looks like their competitors are going to benefit from their loss.
A few have made comments about Connect prices but I have found that if I’m not happy with a price, I just call my account handler and he sorts out a deal for me. In his words, “If we make a loss on one part of a larger order then its not an issue. So long as we make a profit overall and you are happy to make the purchase it’s win win for everyone”. Also any issues I have had with them have been sorted quickly and professionally.

Just found out our account was cancelled as well, without any notification. Called them and was basically told that the account was closed and this was automatically happening for any account as soon as it drops below £100 before vat per week.
We don’t use Qualtex a lot, mostly when we do it’s larger orders to topup van stock.
Honestly couldn’t care less that they cut the account, just think it’s strange the way they did it. Surely it would have made more sense to notify people of the minimum spend and and give them a chance to meet it or lose the account.

Rather ironic, they don’t want our business but still their sponsorship logo is at the top of these pages :eeek: .

Why? What’s Qualtex’s commercial advertising arrangements got to do with it?
