I expect its been said before

But you have to give Hoover/Candy top marks for designing the inlet tube on their pumps so a 10p coin fits perfect to block it off!!!
Makes you wonder who designs these things Eh?
Still mustn’t moan, there a great source of income

If you pop out the control board, and can see no blown tracks etc, it is usually the Control board, I change the board along with the Interlock (as most Hotpoint boys do).
But as Martin states above if you’ve got blow outs on the board, it usually means something external has blown and taken the board out with it.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you’ll find it interesting, I certainly do!!!

    =water supply problem.

Could be a number of things
    Taps not on
    Kinks in inlet pipes
    Filters blocked at water valves
    Water valve not operating
    Blocked pressure chamber
    Faulty pressure switch
    Or even a pcb fault
The list is quite endless lol

I would be looking at blockage (ie filter, sump hose, coin in outlet pipe etc) or faulty pump

Re: WMA – can’t get belt on?

I’ve never had a problem fitting these.

I do it by fitting over motor pulley and then wind it on the drum pulley, I don’t use cable ties or nothing else, but I do use leather gardening gloves to protect me little pinkies lol

    Disregard my last post above

It will have a J pulley.

If you remove the heater assy on the back of the dryer, and also remove the fan. You will see four screws that hold the motor. Before you undo those screws you should mark the motor and the housing (to make it easier to reassemble).

Remove the four screws and get a slip joint type pliers and swivel the motor anti clockwise. Slip on new belt and then swivel the motor back (with slip joint pliers until the marks align. Then refit the four screws.

That basically is how Hotpoint do it. But trying to describe it is a different kettle of fish lol

Has it got a Jockey pulley? or is it a stretch belt?

If it’s a stretch belt, the motor can be slackened off, and spun round to fit the belt.

I’ve never done one but was talking to a friend who has.

    Re: News….Indesit descaler sales rocket

Yep it’s true to form in this area, customer rings Hot/Ind. with d/w problems, immediately talked into buying two packs of cleaner, what a scam, bloody spaghetti munchers. I suppose it beats the old Hoover? scam of years ago, engineers selling christmas tree’s or was it Servis

    Oh yes it was Servis.
I used to work for Servis (in the good old days 1982-1988)
When we were taken over by Porth decorative (Alf Gooding), the emphasis was more on selling Xmas stuff than repairing appliances lol
