That just says Numatic International, Chard, Somerset.

Unless we have a floorhead that belongs to something else. But it is definitely a commercial model, so maybe that wil be why?

ParticipantRe: Henry
Where would be the logic in that, making different components in two entirely different countries?

ParticipantRe: Henry
Urmmm, I can’t understand that, it definitley says ‘Made In Germany’ on the black floorhead. I think my dad got it from work a few years back, they had a new cleaning company in, so serveral new vacs were made redundant. Unless there is a commercial version made in Germany perhaps?

Im not sure whether they are made in the UK, I’m sure ours says made in Germany, says it on the floorhead

I vacuumed up with Henry, he was about half-full, and then vacummed all around the house again with an empty VAX cyclonic, of which is supposed to be uber ‘powerful’. After emptying the Vax, there was only a bit of fluff and a few hairs inside it.
I think that is a very sweet & noble thing to have done, just to defend my honour! – Thank you Adam. I much appreciate it.

Thanks, although I did this a while ago, to prove to my parents to get a new vac, not a cyclonic one. The Henry now is used by my dad, and will be friends with sawdust and all that sort of stuff.
Martin me no understand the joke!

Actually Martin, the Henry picked more up than the Vax , the carpets were looking quite bad, and there was only a few bits of fluff that the Vax had managed to pick up after using the Henry.
I certainly do not work for Which, I was comparing as a consumer. 😉adamhornsby

Helo 75, I am totally 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} agreeing with what you have to say, dispite any disputes in the past, you do know what your talking about, which customers like. I have now got a good job if anyone would like to know, at a kitchen design place in Selby, just down the road from me, but don’t fear, they sell only Neff and Miele appliances.
Great eh?adamhornsby

Domestic and General pay Indesit company upfront for any repairs that are to be carried out on products covered by their warranties(so why would they fork out for an independant)
We as engineers CAN NOT write off a machine for BER(unless the parts are obsolete) contrary to what the bulk of posters think we have to repair it.
I cannot see how you can slag off all Indesit machines Have you seen many of the Aqualtis/Moon range going wrong, any horror stories on them .
Slag my company off all you want but lets remember they do employ a lot of people in the UK albeit for the time being, how many british people are employed in the manufactur of the oft pluggedISE machine.Yes all very well slagging the company off, but if you so-care for these jobs being cut, blame the general public wanting a price-drop, so just think how much those poor workers get paid, and the big thing in the news where their pensions have been cut, how can you say that Britain’s once most trusted brand is still the same?

Yes, but it would be nice, if they send potential customers a brochure when they request one from the website. Thats my point.

Of course you guys are more experienced, I’m not disputing that, but one brochure we request from Maytag, and it never gets delivered, just says something about the company. And I remember I sent off for another one, a couple of months before that, have we got it? Nope, hints to me that they can’t be bothered, oh well, tough shame for them we actually liked the look of one of the Maytags, but now, we’d rather not bother.

I would go for the Whirlpool, they are of course, better than the Korean ones. As for Maytag, whether they are good quality or not, I sent of for a brochure about 1 month ago, and still haven’t received it, whereas Amana, GE and Whirlpool sent their literature within a few days. I am still waiting for the brochure from Maytag, and would tell me that they can’t be bothered, so I would avoid them, and if the appliance broke down, I wouldn’t dream to imagine what they would be like.

Very good are Henry vacuums. Ours cleans our carpets very well and better than the vax cyclone could ever do. And on hard floors it is good too. Bless it, it has been bashed and banged about on several ocassions and has even fell down the stairs a few times, none of which have seemed to affect its performance or durability. Very easy to push too, and cable auto-rewind is helpful too.
