    Re: Dishwasher salt…why bother….?

Does anyone know the water hardness for Whitley in North Yorkshire, i’ve put my postcode in the thing for Yorkshire Water and it says I’m in a hard water area, but I dont’t believe them, as we don’t have much limescale in our kettle or taps or on the washer element when we took it out?

Yes we had noticed Adam, asking question about Miele in the ISE10 thread… :rolls:

Hehehe, sorry about hijacking the thread, but I was asking questions. I’m actually starting to think of going for an ISE10 (although it has to be in stainless) of the stainless steel Maytag versions (the ones with the blue LCD) they too are built by ASKO arent they? Im just wondering about these because they might look better in the kitchen.

Thanks for that Don, that was very helpful and has answered my questions, although the light ring in question was the yellow one around the control dial, what the older ones had. What are pros and cons to a condenser and vented dryer, bearing in mind our kitchen layout places the washer and dryer on an outside wall?
And of course the W3922 only has a matching condenser dryer.

Re: Any feedback on ISE10 models yet?

I know you can release the door with the ring pull, but according to a user manual that I downloaded of the model we may be going for, there is a special lever tool that opens the filter flap, but I could not see this lever. What I can’t understand is, why would you need a lock to only release itself when there is power on, does the machine have to be connected to the mains socket and that switched on, or does the actual machine needed to be turned on too?
So many questions about these. Does the W3922 have a light ring, and how noisey would it be with the brushless motor, quieter than the standard ones?
I or should I say we, need to know how quiet the machine is as it is going to be sited in a kitchen dining area. How noisey are the condenser dryers too, because my aunt has a White Knight 797 and it sounds like a Boeing 747 taking off.

Hello everyone I’m here. I have a question to ask actually, me and my mum were browsing around Miller bros, and none of the Miele machines open. Are they supposed to do that, and why?

Also to the other post, with the Prestige, where did you buy it from?

Re: PLEASE HELP – The Hell of Choosing New Appliances…….

Sorry everyone, I have helped my dad on many occasions now, fitting kitchens and removing them whenever I am on holliday I get roped into helping him and he has taught me the ins and outs. He has seen many kitchens in his time, and by god, has he seen some. He also fitted out Dixons and Currys stores when he was younger, so Kwatt, you’ll like my dad, because he is more in favour of making an appliance work, its why we have a Harwood fridge that is older than me, a 13 year old washing machine, an Electrolux deep freezer nearly as old as me and an Tricity Bendix tumbler and a Cannon wall grill, hob and oven, which were in our old house probably older than me, see he likes to keep things going, the washing machine as many of you may know is playing up, but it has not done bad for 13 years because my old man, has kept it well maintained and my mother kept it clean.
Sorry everyone again, but the Howdens kitchen we fitted is still shoddy, i’m not backing down on that. the shelves didnt fit, joints were split, 1000mm units with only 4 legs, the overall finish on the products ie. the cornice and pelmet was inadequte and the fact that one drawer front was missing, despite my dad trying to do his best with it and it does look good finished, it isn’t exactly the sort of kitchen company I’d want to go to.

And you’ve fitted how many Adam?

They are in fact as good or bad as any bulk kitchen manufacturers product, and the quality is very much in how well they are installed…

Enough thanks very much and the Howdens will be the first and the last 😉 , and I was helping my dad install it for a relative. My dad is also a reptuable joiner (self employed), very much so that clients keep coming back to him. The kitchen it’s self is tacky and very cheap. Not very well designed for the installer, and half of the joints were breaking, and the whole ambience seemed a bit Chinese from the taps, plumbing kits and extractor hood.
I worked for Magnet, and they are very good kitchens, Magnet know how kitchens are supposed to be made, not susprising they come from Yorkshire.
Question is Clive, how many kitchens have you fitted?

    Adam.

Good choices, Neff and Aeg are (i hope, thats what we’re getting) very reliable. As for your induction hob, they can be placed above anything because they dont get hot unlike traditional hob technologies. May I warn anyone buying a new kitchen, not to step near a Howdens job, because I’ve just helped my dad fit one and they are the most cheapest and filmisist things you can imagine.

Indeed but I think you’ll find Magnet only sell the cheap end of the Neff product market. Some are re-badged appliances too so my choice to see a good range of Neff on display would be any John Lewis store. 😉

They do they supply the full range of Neff appliances, take a look in their brochure. Trust me, i worked for them. 😆

It would be useful if you could get some detailed specs on the website. I think this would help sell the quality of the machines. I’m assuming that the washer has a stainless outer drum and iron counter weights etc…things you associate with the Miele machines.

Sorry Gary I missed that bit. 😳

Yes, stainless inner drum and stainless outer tank.

Metal shielded bearing seal, bearings and case designed to last for a minimum of 20 years. The bearing case and bearings are actually the same as used in a Volvo road train, big truck thing, and they use it with a minimum of 1 million kilometre MTF (Mean Time till Failure) as the Swedes said to me, they think that’s adequate. 😉
Iron counter weights on all machines as that’s recyclable.
Powder coated case, not painted (like a Miele ;)) as that is far more durable and keeps it’s looks longer. Doesn’t crack, doesn’t peel and can stand being thumped, bent and all sorts of abuse. So rust, not an issue.
I could go on all night. 😉

Hi, here I am. One of Miele’s fans. When I first used a Miele washer and dryer, I was very impressed with the quality of the wash/dry performance, the overall quality and the easy to use controls and I knew these are what we want in our house than anything else. And in contridiction to what Kwatt says, Miele machines aren’t painted, they are enameled with Vitreous enamel ( yes the sort of stuff, good baths are made from). It withstands chemicals, acid, stains. its lightfast, wont scratch, chip, flake or peel and wont ever corrode. The enamel is guaranteed for life of the machine not to do any of these things I mentioned here. The quality of Miele machines is sky high, Miele have also been going for a lot longer than Asko they know what they are doing better 😉 . Miele practically invented the washing machine we know of today. They are also very eco friendly, and as for style, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and they are designed to perform rather than be on the catwalks of Milan! 😉 😆
Miele are absolutely awesome machines, say what you want, but I swear by them. Hope this helps 😆

I even had an email from Blackwell & Denton of York, and this is what they told me: MIELE IS THE SUPRIOR MAKE IN ALL MAJOR GOODS IN THE MARKET. THEY PRIDE THEM SELF IN PRODUCING THE BEST QUALITY AND PERFORMING MACHINE ON THE MARKET. NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO A MIELE PRODUCT. WE HAVE NEVER SOLD A BETTER PRODUCT THAN MIELE, WE BELIEVE MIELE IS THE BEST MONEY CAN BUY. Says it all really 😉

Magnet supply Neff appliances, I should think there would be some on display. As for which ones you choose, I would choose Neff or Miele depending on how much you’re wanting to spend. As for the 70cm fridge freezer, Miele are the only other brand I can think of that make that width. Forget the Hoover, too much trouble, have been for over a decade. 😉

Hehehe, good one Greg, every Merloni product carries that, not susprising really, the things breakdown within a week 😆 . In answer to the OP what I would do, is demand a refund with a capital ‘D’ with comet or hotpoint and buy a decent machine not anything connected with Merloni company. Failing that chuck, you could always send an email to Watchdog. 😉

That’ll make a mockery of Hotpoint.

Very glad, the Miele is serving you well, lets hope it serves you for another 20 years yet. Adam just can’t wait to we get our Miele…..
And I tell you something, if our AEG creations start giving us grief, we will be replacing them with a you know what without a seconds thought.

Hehe, I do think it was me who hijacked the thread, but glad to hear your machine is serving you well. 😉
