ParticipantRe: new kitchen, new appliances..
As someone working for a kitchen designer who deals with neff and miele appliances, i would recomend Miele anyday. They are better quality than Neff, especially if you are looking for reliability and performance. Miele dishwashers are practically best on the market, and you can’t go wrong buying any Miele appliance, since they were awarded Which? Best Appliance Brand of 2007.
Go for the Miele, anything else really is a compromise! 😉

I think this poster is completely off their rocker.allergies like hayfever and animals, yes i can believe, but an allergy of aluminium? i have never heard such a thing

ParticipantRe: Miele W3922 10yr warranty back on
I didnt mean that, I meant that Miele machines are actually built by a manufacturer who makes professional machines.
And they make their own drive and electronic systems themselves.adamhornsby

Good choice with the Miele, hope it serves you proud, they certainly are the best machines going, being of semi-professional quality, something the ISE doesnt have.

ParticipantRe: New Steam ovens etc
i honestly dont know why you have a negative about aluminium. Besides you are wrong, very wrong in fact, aluminium is certainly not cheap and nasty, it is actually very expensive, light but tough, and is used on prestigous products such as Jaguar cars for example. It is also a very good heat conductor which makes it suitable for ovens.
I cant understand all these manufacturers, it was Miele who developed the first combi and steam ovens and the first built in coffee machine, funny how other brands jump on the band wagon.

ParticipantRe: Miele belt squeak
R600a, i personally think you should stop moaning about the sqeauking belt, you have the best brand going, just think there are people living with hotpoints and indesits and the like, surely you could show apprecietion?
if its under guarantee, get miele out to fix it, or if your an engineer then theres nothing to stop you fixing it yourself.the others are probably right, i think you may be hammering it to death, they last 20 years if used for 5 cycles a week

ParticipantRe: Smart Card & Reader
I like the sound of an Internet fridge, but how would it work to order things, obviously you’d need to have a supermarket ordering service and a debit or credit card on the system, so how would it get around that? Also would it have anti-virus and firewall, to prevent Nigerian scammers from hacking your credit card, so they can buy something for their son in Portugal or something.
if we were to have Internet enabled appliances, what would stop them from being remotely hacked into, and what would stop them from coming down with viruses?
ermm, im not sure about Internet linked appliances unless the manufacturers really have it sussed.

although in Lego, there are real ones in the backgound, and seem to be rather Sebo looking, it is Miele anyway, so they wont be Chinese crapadamhornsby
ParticipantRe: New Washing machine & height reduction kit
A new machine eh? My advice is not to go for anything cheap, especially the Haier nightmares, we were browsing in Comet and saw one, and needless to say, I was not impressed. Just pulling the detergent drawer out spoke volumes, as it felt flimsy and didn’t even pull out straight, so the rest of the machine isn’t going to be any good, and if you research Haier on the internet you’ll find their lacklustre user guides, which are extremely funny to read, there was spelling and grammer mistakes all over the place, and the type wasn’t very legible, very cheap and nasty, I certainly won’t be buying one.
Most machines you should be able to take the lid off, but only Miele of what I know of, have a height reduction kit.

I assume you are attempting to fit the drain pipe to another pipe under the sink.
There are so many different types of fittings used it would be difficult to advise you without seeing it.
Can you post a picture of the pipe you are trying to attach it to?
Jim.
ISE didnt get awarded ‘Best Domestic Appliance Brand’ of 2007 by Which readers though
