Phidom, not too sure. I was doing a number 5 wash with prewash. After it had been running for a while, I realised it was going nowhere, and F5 was displayed. The “prewash” powder had gone. Being mean, I switched off, reprogrammed for number 5 without prewash, and started again. This time the cycle completed, cold or with watever the hot may have filled, without any error code displayed. The wash load was not too important, so I hung it up to dry! Right now I am “decoding” the pressure switch connection numbers, so I will try that next, but still not sure. Will check earth leakage now.

A standard 4 ring cooker will drawer approx 11kw if ALL the elements was used at the same time.

It would be ussual for 3 rings and say an oven on which would use approx 6.5kw.

Most modern houses now have consumer units rated at 100amp plus some even 2 units to cope with modern day living demands.

There has been no problems that I am aware ofwith these ovens as long as they are installed correctly.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers to everyone that answered.

Looks like it might be less hassle to look for a new oven then!

sorry chaps…I’m there with Bridie and the kids and at meetings all day Thursday as it is. Therefore cross me out for the evening meeting with Dasa, not a chance. Besides I don’t think we can discuss serious issues over an evening meal.

Well said Ken, I for one concur, except you should withdraw the Jason “twat” remark, not cool, not you.

    Hi Bryan

Dont think grease was a problem, it was probably the first time the grill had been used!

Doesn’t have a “clock” unless thats a technical term.

The first question every engineer I’ve phoned asks is “what make is it?” & when I say that I don’t know, they just tell me to find out & phone them back.

The oven came with the flat, & the guy I bought it from doen’t have any of the paperwork or remember what make it was. Just that he bought it from B&Q. B&Q told me that it was probably a Proline Colonial, but have had trouble find out anything.

    Thanks

Re: replacement dual element for fan oven

It may well be if the grill went on fire it was caused by a build up of grease on it and not actually catching fire,It would be advisable to get an engineer out to check the appliance just in case it is just a minor part.

have you made sure that the clock is set correctly ?

I also have the parts in stock for this appliance.

    hope this helps

Re: Zanussi Fridge Freezer keeps defrosting

As the refrigerant system is a sealed system if the appliance is over 6mths old it is unussaul for “” shall we say “” Internal leaks “.

Depepending on which refrigerant you have in your appliance depends on the common faults. If you have R134a then this refrigerant is prone to causing blockages in the system that will give the same symtoms as lack of refrigerant,if R600a the it may well be the compressor failing to pump the refrigerant.

It should be fairy easy with modern gauges to see if the system is leaking whilst it is on vacuum.

Try another engineer who is experiences in system faults.

    Hope this helps

Re: replacement dual element for fan oven

    Hi Bob

    Thank you for replying.

Not sure to be honest. It was the grill element that went on fire, but the fan oven isn’t working anymore either. Maybe both?

How would I be able to get them?

    Thanks

    Zanussi ZK 56/38 RF

Compressor is working but the freezer is not freezing. Engineer warned that gas could have leaked inside the case and it would be impossible to refill as it would continue to leak.

Any GOOD zanussi engineer in the Brighton area?

It may well be that the vent hose has been kinked blocking the air flow causing the over heat thermostat to trip,Try to make sure that the vent hose is in line with the hole and not creased.

    hope this helps

Intermittent faults, oh how we love them! 😆

On the older 62/21’s that’s what I would guess at although, as I said, there are other things that could be faulty, including the defrost timer itself but a 16 hour cycle could well be about right, there’s various times for those and one of the Zanussi guys should be able to shed a bit more light on that for you.

Re: “knocking noises” from Whirlpool dishwasher pu

    thanks for the info.

The pump pipe clips are snap latching, not screw, and look like if I take them off, I might not be able to refit them.

Any advice on removal and refitting?, or does it need a special tool.

    thanks

    Roger

As indicated before, the pump physically shakes when the problem starts, it is not touching the drip tray. It seems like something is expanding and when the temperature gets to a certain point, i.e. a certain level of expansion, it starts catching on something. When cold water is run back through, after a few seconds the shaking stops and the pump behaves normally.

ok many thanks for the help. I’ll look into it. Might be tempting fate but since we’ve shortened the hose just now it appears to be getting warmer… Thanks once again for the advice – great website btw!
