KeymasterRe: Servis Quartz 1100, s/n unknown, drum bracket broken
Hi K.,
the machine is from 98 I think and the bearings just gave up. I can get them for trade price, so they are only a couple of pounds. Also I would use the completely sealed types (not Z but RS1) so they should work even longer than 6 years.
So it actually should save money…. And as my partner says: Repairing this thing IS FUN! 😀
So I guess we go for it.

Thank you so much Dave,
we found the number behind the filter door. It’s an M6110.
So we found the drum with spider for about 105 quid, which is quite a lot of money. Although the machine seems to be worth investing it since the rest seems to be in a very good condition.
Problem is that Servis tells us that they don’t supply the spider alone. They always come with the drum fixed to them. The people at MFI are sales people and not fitters, so the only thing they tell us is that they don’t do Servis.
So, can you tell me which MFI-machine has the same spider fitted? That would be a big help. Otherwise I guess we’ll have to go for the whole drum.
Best, Andreasadmin
KeymasterRe: Bernstein Group / Caremark Dishwasher spares
Hello Dave.
No, there is no brand name – the machine was picked up at a trade fair and the only information is that given, hidden away on a label at the back of the machine.

KeymasterRe: Merloni
hi phil,
It appears there was never technical/spares or any other sort of back up on the table with Merloni. Nesn went into this knowing exactly what was on offer, fraid they are being economical with the truth now. The work was always temporary lasting until xmas at best.
You should ask why a) Nesn are “trailing” temporary work b) and where the projected 44,000 calls are coming from.No-one will argue that Merloni are desperate, but the Nesn cause is not helped by several in their network refusing to do any work with a merloni badge on it. Theres more to this and as ken says its very political now…..no doubt the end result wont suit everyone, but if we play our cards right and refuse the work directly, we will force the price up with the correct deal through a work provider. Giving those who do the work much greater protection than is apparent now. As you are at the moment, exposed to the Nesn shortcoming of poor payment etc, no help, no back up, not even the truth when you need it.
Think on it phil, are you doing yourself any favours doing this work with such poor support?
one thing is for certain phil, nesn were pushed not the other way round.

Hi,
weve had similar to this where we could not get to heat, new timer did not cure or swopping module. We are now awaiting a loom even though we could not fault the heat circuit on the existing loom. The original call was to intermittent spin even though we could not fault the spin cycle.

KeymasterI agree whole heartedly Ken, we do need to stand together firmer, and then we can be more comitted to the cause. We will not win alone but together we stand more than a fighting chance.
And no offence taken

KeymasterRe: Merloni
NOT YET CONFIRMED
Merloni withdrew from nesn as their network was not strong enough to do the work without training.
Nesn were allowed to spin their way out rather than publically say our network is not up to the task.

Hello Dave – I need a shelf for the same series of larder fridge. Am I best getting it through you or going through MFI extracare ( not impressed last time I dealt with MFI to be honest)
Best Regards

KeymasterHi all,
lots of replys here, the address and post code posted by AH is the one that I was given too. Had the same experience of the phone always going to voicemail also. I also checked autoroute, when I was considering ordering something from them I was going to drive by and check out the place, even though I was told I couldn’t pick up the goods I wanted to see the place, as I live in leeds it would have only been a 1/2 hour trip at most. When I saw where it was that made me more suspicious.
I really wish I’d have saved a copy of the website before it went off. It was done with the buzz sites site builder, http://www.startwiththis.com/ , Looks like this service was used because its very easy to setup a website, the everything electrical site looked very similar to the site builder site.
Everything I saw or found out about this site just screamed Scam. I should have posted something here sooner, I could have saved some people from ordering from them.

KeymasterRe: Ocean APM6825 from MFI
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your qiuck reply.
Since posting late Sat., had a “free” Sun. so decided to “have -a- go”.
Unplugged the unit, + inside the frreezer was an easily removable ( 5 screws ) plastic sheet that exposed the fan + de-frost heater.
This was a solid block of ice!!!- including the drain hole.
[ Had noticed an ice build-up over last few months].I “hair-dryered” the area, re-connected, + everything seems to be working O.K. 😆 freezer producing ice + fridge cooling down.
I appreciate what you say re thermo/timer – if I get the same “ice-blockage” in next few days, I will know where the problem lies [ you’re right in that I don’t have the right testing equipment ] + can look for an engineer to fix.
Will post the outcome,
Once again, many thanks for the advicegee_jay.

KeymasterRe: Merloni
Ken,
You say that we insist on a 2 year contract, whats to stop work providers renaging on these contracts. They don’t have to pull out of the contract they just stop supplying work as this has been done in the past. There appears to be no sure thing in this industry.
When colleges say they will not work no way no how with a manufacturer or work porvider , I personally think this is a bit short sighted. None of us should ever burn our bridges as you never know just what is round the corner. You never know what was once the worst supplier of work, be it a network or manufacturer may eventually become one of the best. Pigs might fly I know but we need to be one step ahead of the game.
Over the years we have all had bad experiences and no doubt will all go through rough times in the future, but now with better communications such as UKW we are all a lot better equipped to stand together and fight for a better industry for us all.

As a company we are trying to contact them, regarding their outstanding account for advertising. But the 0870 number is always answered by voicemail.

KeymasterRe: Blomberg washing machine
Hi,
I’ve got the exact same machine with what seems to be the same problem. What sort of time frame would be expected for this item to come into stock (weeks, months, maybe never)?
Whilst the machine leaks a little at the moment, I can wait a month or so for the replacement part…..
Thanks in advance
