farker wrote:Hi,
I had been looking for an american style fridge freezer with ice and water dispenser for a while. I happened to get a fax (junk fax) sent through that had one listed for £399 as well as other cheap items. I logged onto the website for the first time about a month ago and sure enough it was there, a samsung model that currys had for £700 was £399. Anyhow, I didn’t order it right away but I checked the details, something from the work go rang alarm bells. Upon investigation I saw that apart from the initial advertising fax they ‘had’ a free easy setup website, the phone numbers were 0870 nondescript numbers, They had a free email account, the addresses listed didn’t have a postcode. So I went a bit further, called the number, It was like one of those answer services you can get where someone answers it but can only really take a message, I couldn’t get any detail from her regarding company reg number or a valid postcode, I got one but I couldn’t search on autoroute or streetmap for it. Also, the site specified delivery was included in the price, you couldn’t pick it up, I asked, and it was upto 28 days delivery. By this time I was sure something was a bit dodgy but the fridge was damn cheap. So I waited and today the site http://www.everythingelectrical.buzzsites.net/ is now suspended by the host.
So I did not order anything so didn’t loose anything (except the chance of a cheap fridge) but I wondered if anyone had ordered from these guys and if it a real business?
If it is a real business and its just a website temporary problem then I appologise.
Ihave paid for a freezer that was never sent

oops, forgot to put in my name on the last post.
Also meant to say that I had a look at the item which the Homark/Caremark engineer told me was the thermostat. It runs along the top edge of one of the oven side walls and looks like a sparkler (firework). IS that the thermostat?

Thanks Dave!
I think it might be both parts. The oven was running v hot for a while (ie OFF or BURN settings 😀 ) so that would indicate thermostat gone. Then last week the heating stopped although the fan and light are still okay, as is the grill.
I have left a message with a chap who does local repairs but he’s not got back to me yet. My postcode is BS8 (Bristol) if anyone else can help.
Thanks,

KeymasterHi Alex,
I am not working for Merloni or Nesn but I would never say never under the right circumstances should that day ever arrive.
The Merloni of old I had an excellent relationship with and also produced a very good profit margin from their work (I must have been one of the few), it was a stepping stone on the ladder. Problems didnt start to occur until GDA became involved and everything then got screwed up.
To take the work again I would need a number of guarantees as Ken so rightly points out above. We should at this time sit tight and recieve better rates and support for the industry.

sorry to hear that one born, that really sucks, when I was considering ordering from them I was thinking about paying by credit card so I had a bit of insurance against fraud via the card company.

PS, forgot to say that I’ve also had a new element fitted (about 18 months ago) because the old one burnt out when the last thermostat went. So actually, my guess is that it could be either part that I need, or both.
Perhaps if you could let me know costs, I’ll get a qualified person to do the diagnosis bit, then I’ll order the part, THEN I’ll get them back to fix it.
And in the meantime I’ll plan on NOT buying Homark for my next kitchen, and carry on eating grilled meals 👿 😈
Thanks,

I’ve also got this model fan oven, bought it in august 99 and it’s had a new thermostat every year! 👿
It’s now out of warranty and I’m going to buy the part and get it fitted (much cheaper!). Can you source a thermostat for me and give me an idea of the price, Dave?
These are the details in case you need them:
Mod. 05-703205 Typ. B12
then there’s a serial number, and some other numbers which say 230…240 V~50Hz Please let me know if you need more information,
thanks, Helen.admin

Hotpoint cannot come out to fix my washing machine for 2 weeks. The machine is only 3 months old and Currys don’t want to know either 👿

KeymasterRe: Homark Oven Door
Thanks Dave.
Yes this is a 90cm oven.
I will need to get back to you on the serial number – can you help with where I am likely to find that.
That said I’m pretty certain that I bought the kitchen and cooker over 4 years ago which would make it pre 2001.

Oh and concerning Merloni…..
The Italians are not exactly known for building things for wet conditions. Just look how fast a Fiat rusts away 😆 -
