Hi All,
I have been working direct with GIAS as a paper invoice engineer and also for the past 24 months as a web invoicing service centre and have been trying to get them to use the WTA guy’s direct and to be honest if you work with them then they will work with you.
Engineers moan that they don’t have the work and the networks are taking it.When your offered it direct then you still moan. Yes the rates aren’t great but if you work with them then the work increases.

Then as the market is going then all the engineers won’t be doing any work and be unemployed as the amount of cheap machines out there that aren’t been repaired the work won’t be there as it’s cheaper to replace than to send an engineer out.
They have an option : Go to repaircare , NESN , JTM (i doubt JTM ). If they do go that way then if your doing the work for that network it’ll be either you do it at a lower rate or you’ll lose the rest of your work.Parts will be expensive and loaded onto your account also and returns being dealt with the network if you can get a return.
There are pro’s and con’s for doing the work direct.

As yet we have not had a call rejected from them that hasn’t been able to be resolved. out of 160 calls 7 rejected due to my error. resubmitted and cleared.
Spares at the discounted price cheaper than connect
Technical is on the website or on the phone if you have been given the contact numbers and very helpful.
If you have turned up and the GIAS engineer is on site or has left on the day then you get paid.
you complete the calls on line and if you learn the system then acceptance of the serial numbers ect are easy.
Invoicing is payment within 7 days of end of month
No fighting concerning getting paid for recalls if its not a genuine recall.

Chasing customers but that’s normal with all contract calls.
Yes at present the calls are aged but that’s due to the baumatic side as I don’t think that GIAS realised the volume of calls that baumatic had.But that comes down to normal fielding of calls and all the networks do it.
Parts are now from italy and they was slow but I have noticed that they are speeding up,Baumatic spares are also speeding up..
Option..
If you want the GIAS work but don’t want the other stuff then I am handling the work and allocating the calls for a lot of engineers.All I want is customer contacted, date call booked in for,Parts required after visit with product number/serial number and dip checked,and completed job.
I am taking the risk concerning rejections ect and parts ordered sent direct.I am paying invoices within 7 days if you update us.I am offering this as a free service for WTA members.I cannot guarantee nor can anyone else how long GIAS will hold off passing to the networks but at the end of the day it’s in anyones hands who either wants to do the work or not.

Fagor address presented Tuesday at the Commercial Court No. 1 San Sebastián the application to start the process of liquidation of the cooperative not thrive after an agreement with creditors. The winding up petition includes subsidiaries Edessa, and Proiek Grumal .

And the questions that should be asked
Is there central heating ?
underfloor heating ?
ambient temp ?
how often is door opened ?
for how long is the door opened ?
how full is the freezer ?
how full is the fridge ?
what is stored in the freezer ?
do they use the ice maker ?
how much ice do they use ?
do they use the water dispenser ?
how often and how much water ?
do they adjust the drawers for different temperatures ?
is the food thats put into the freezer already frozen at -20 ?
is the fresh food already chilled to +3oc ?And thats just a start of the questions they will have to prove as ALL these factors have to be taken into account.

The Zanussi Sl, washcraft and FL range of machines were well built and good machines to work on, IMO it all went down here when they introduced the split cabinet machine.
a washing machine used to be a major cost, customers would have to save a week or even a months wages just to afford them, now they work out at less than a days wages.
its true what ken said, customers are now looking for cheap and its harder to sell on the point that higher cost means better quality.

.they are also looking for cheaper than that, I had a customer in the shop this morning, she didn’t want to spend the money having her Bosch WFF2000 repaired, she saw we had a shop display machine on for £190.00 and she asked if we had anything any cheaper !, I told her we don’t do second hand machines and her answer was “I want a new one but I don’t want to spend that much!”

this is actually quite interesting as we have just started offering an extended warranty on all new machines we sell, this way we retain the customer after the manufactures warranty as we can do the work, and we are cheaper on nearly all the products.
does anyone else on here offer extended warranties not by D&G as it would be good to compare prices,
