KeymasterRe: Bosch Dishwasher
Sorry, I should have given the full numbers:
E-NR SMS 3042GB/08
FD7210111691
0730102989
S5N27BAfter reading other posts, it does sound like this inlet may be blocked.
But I’m confused – why does a water inlet get blocked (surely it’s the outlet that gets gooed up by old fats etc….)As this ancient machine came with the house, I don’t have a manual so I’ve no idea where to locate the relevant panel to remove. Advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks for setting up such a helpful site and letting us civilians use your knowledge.

KeymasterRe: Hotpoint DW61
It’s a Hotpoint DWF 61
When turned on it now says 26 minutes. It does not seem to fill with water but you can hear water circulating on the left hand side of the machine.

KeymasterRe: Bosch Dishwasher
That’s very interesting. My own Bosch SMS3042 also stops at various points in the cycle and I assumed the rotary timer was worn out (it’s rather old).
Could it be the same cause? If so, where do I find this sump-end hose thingy?
Great site BTW!admin

KeymasterRe: Bosch, excellence does not come as standard
I would also say that your experience with the Bosch service centre is at least more speedy than that offered by the Merloni-owned Hotpoint. The Hotpoint Service Centre does not seem able to coordinate engineer visits and spare parts, and their levels of service are characterised by their slowness and their inaccuracy.

KeymasterRe: Downdraft ventilation – Brit models?
I’m actually looking for UK/EU compliant models (for a domino hob range) but can only find US downdraft models for use with gas. The reason for a downdraft rather than hood is ‘cos it’s for an open plan space and the building design makes installing any kind of extracting hood a bit of a chore, while a recirculating hood wouldn’t provide a great enough extraction rate for the space.
From what I know of downdraft extractors most of them allow you to fit the motor remotely so that they are actually quieter than standard hoods so that’s another reason for looking at these.
As for the cash factor – I’m currently re-building the house so I don’t have much – that’s why I’m asking for help! -
