Thanks, there is no heat when dryer is selected although it does think that it is on the drying cycle. have removed all clogged fluff etc from plastic thingy attached to the heater but still does not work. could it be pump related or is is more likely to be heater element/motor

    Thanks in Advance

Re: Tricity Sovereign Main Oven Hinges

    hi,

the left hand hinge was part number 5724907102008
the right hand hinge was part number 572543521007

both around the 12.00 + Vat mark and as far as I know no longer available.

These are the L shaped hinges if anyone else happens to have a couple of old ones, if I remember correctly there used to be a screw through them to prevent the hinge from popping out.

    Re: New Approaches

For the benefit of all of us who can read this forum…..

I think we have to control all and any approach to UKW through the Moderators and general membership. It does seem that moderators are being asked questions/enquiries and whilst these guys are spot on and in my opinion do a great job, we should not allow them to speak for UKW without the Board being informed and the reply formulated. I have no issue with the messenger or indeed of their continued involvement in the line of enquiry.
UKW is now a limited company and as such we need to commercially consider the implications of approaches, to the benefit of shareholders and our general membership. It goes without saying that when we put the shares up for sale that our potential investors will expect the board to run a tight ship and to protect their investment.
Therefore we need to introduce a policy to all shareholders, subscribers and membership that spells out the proceedure without putting anyones nose out of joint. I think we need this for the meeting too, so not a lot of time to conclude this one.

Re: Don’t Fancy Hotpoint, How about Hoover…

Just booked a call to a hoover auto where the customer has been trying to get through to hoover service for over two hours. She got cheesed off and re contacted her insurance company who refered her to us…..

Levels of service begin with answering the phone, I think this customer rates Hoover pretty poorly

Re: Patten or Genuine Spare Parts ????

Sorry to join this thread late…been on holiday.

I think that all manufacturers should take a look at the Bosch web site and see how its done freely.
We attend 100 hotperloni calls a month and the twist and turns of the cd are time consuming, its almost impossible to stock a bearing spider with so many spec changes to your product. But this is not new, when the cd first came out the Ariston bearing/spider/seals were a nightmare. We now have a situation where even the bracket securing the motor to a hotpoint determines which belt is fitted.
I am afraid your cd is poor in comparison to others but we are forced to cough up if we want the info.
The issue of pattern spares is really a non issue for an independent. You I sumamise are in charge of a spares department and as such have a budget and targets to meet. The factory price of an askol with filter ect is less than a £1.00, which your department has to buy at a price which gives the factory a profit. You in turn have to control the price of that pump to the uk market to ensure that you make a profit on that part. You offer varying discounts to the different levels within this trade and all levels are trying to make a profit, including us. Your department no doubt has to make a profit and whilst your appliances are available for £165.00 (autowasher) you wont make huge profit from me.

I will not tell you how many of your product we write off, but we don’t recommend your product as a replacement. If you want to increase the sales of spares, get the product more reliable first. We should not be changing £80.00 modules and eeproms at 13 months, bearings should last longer than 2 years. At the moment the reliability of your product is on a par with Servis who also overcharge for modules ect.. At the moment Technical info is not a problem as UKW is able to (and will continue to) offer massive support to its members through its own members experience and knowledge, its a relationship you should consider because others are at the moment..
We don’t loose private customers because of the price of your spares, we convert the call into an appliance sale which we deliver and fit.

    regards

    Re: London & General Holdings

We have one old outstanding Lgh call, its very interesting that you guys also have probs…we should ask MFI for assistance with LGH as this was part of the deal when the initial negotiations with MFI were carried out. Whoever speaks to Tony first should remind him that any issues with LGH would be supported with MFI help as long as the claim was a valid one, as I know this first hand please involve MFI with your trouble with LGH.

I’m sure MFI will be concerned that payments are not met correctly.

Re: Annual Inspections On Insured Appliances?

If this were to unfold, an annual inspection on an insured appliance would increase my work load by 350 to 400 calls a month, which with my present staff we could not do. So we’re talking two more fully skilled engineers with 3 skill sets as a minimum, fat chance of finding them.

This is on top of the appliance failing 5 minutes after you’re engineer touching it and the insurance company insisting its a recall…..

just a thought for you to consider…

Re: NESN in a Spin Mode

Those of us who are owed money from Nesn, should remember that Nesn have been caught several times not paying onto the agents monies paid to them. It became so bad that they started the {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} payments which was and is disgusting. To blatently use the cash flow of its members to ease their own troubles..stinks.

I have just received two payments from Nesn for two jobs I completed in FEB 2003, on their system, all legit with no errors…..and as the work was with a company that pays within 60 days, it kinda brings it back to basics.
Whats the point of working for any organisation that will not pay 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} within 60 days of a completed job. In 2001 I caught Nesn not paying me for work they had been paid for from the Miller brothers contract they had, my reward for refusing to work for no payment was to be thrown off their agents list. In 2003 when they asked me back I should have said no..Wont make the same mistake again. I have not done any work for Nesn for over a year but I’m still owed outstanding monies.

Whatever the changes within Nesn until they pay correctly only fools will sign up or re-sign, and I know of another on the list that has been approached and not the other way round. It seems they have a specific need for gas work…so if you’re a gas registered business you should consider putting up your prices to offset the training/fees its gonna cost you to keep it. This is the only chance you’ll get.

Re: Smeg DWF 64 SS water inlet hose detached internally

    Thanks for the reply kwatt.

Yep it is the water supply hose. The hose outer sheath resembles the waste but it has an inner hose (blue and about half inch) and cable for the anti-flood device running through it. The tilers have given it a good pull and it has come off from within the machine. It will just push back on as the spring clip has come off with it but I can’t see where it goes back on. Have you any idea which component it would attach to – pump or resevoir etc?

    Cheers
