Yes, the cutout size is a problem. It will be a major exercise to enlarge it on the one side. But would the Corgi man be able to repair / unfreeze the stuck valve simply by lubricating it, and if so what sort of lubricant – the components are aluminium?

    Hi

Thanks for the reply. It certainly seems that way from our point of view. Out of interest, why would you classify it as a good one?

eastlmark wrote:The baffles have been replaced with new types that screw in.

Screw into the original drum? Great if so. Is this a common-ish issue then?

eastlmark wrote:The downside is that the inner drum has to be removed in order to fit the screws that are supplied with the new baffles. Although not particularly difficult to do as the front comes off on this machine, it is not exactly DIY and you probably need someone to do it for you.

Doesn’t sound too daunting. I’ve already had it apart to replace the water distributor board (I think that’s what I was told its called) and service the pump when it was blocked.

Are there any particularly awkward stages in the dissasembly/assembly? Does the drum inner reseat itself properly and are there any special requirements (torque, etc) for fastening it back in?

eastlmark wrote:Post your postcode here and maybe someone can help you or look up a local agent in the directories section.

KT8, Kingston/Hampton/Surbiton sort of area. There’s a ServiceForce depot just around the corner that I’ve used for other white goods parts. Is there a part number for the new baffles plus fixings should I end up doing it myself?

Thanks again for the reply. I really appreciate it.

    Cheers

    Re: Hoover HNF 2137

Ta very much Penguin 45 for your advice. Just now ordered the Bosch 2466 for the same price as the Hoover 2137 – and a quick comparison on the Comet website shows that for the same price the Bosch is a better machine if you’re not fussed about larger drum/higher spin on the hoover.

    Thanks again!

    Re: Hoover HNF 2137

Thanks Penguin 45 for your reply. My husband did say that if £299 lasts for 7/8 years then that’s OK. However – your comment regarding the spin speed with the large tub has concerned me so much that I have now cancelled my order for the Hoover and will be getting either the the Bosch WFO2866 (smaller tub 6kg with a higher spin speed 1400rpm) or the Bosch WFO2466 (same tub but 1200 rpm spin speed) – think that this is the only difference between them for £50.

What have you spoken with Sue about the top of this thread and their practices?
No one has ever returned to me about the outstanding job. I wondered if the backup agent in the area has been asked to carry it out? I hope not they are Service Force and should know better. I dont know whether they watch the site or not though

Whilst you have allowed me into the boardroom, for which I feel very privelidged, I would personally not feel it my position to answer on behalf of UKW I feel that any answer should come from the three of you.
