KeymasterRe: fault code on indesit W1435
Rosie,
We had the same problem and paid £90 for the repair.
After subsequent faults I found that the pump impeller had ‘GUNK’ wrapped aroung it.
I had to prise off the front cover with a knife and remove the threaded pump cover (on the right) with a pair of pliers.
Ensure your machine is empty.
Remove the gunk and replace the cover.
Be careful as the cover is easy to break.
Yours aye

KeymasterRe: First time buyer
Thanks for your help – the fridges are a bit pricey but the cookers seem to be quite reasonable.
Are there any other manufacturers worth considering?
Thanks again

KeymasterRe: Nearly 90 Pence A Litre
hi r600, not sure your not breaking the law on storing so much potentially explosive fuel………
I am aware there are limits that bring in the rule and regulation handbook to slap you around and make you toe the line……….Anyone out there know more?????

I sent Dave a picture before “The Great Crash”.
He’s asked me to repeat the question and then he was going to add the picture to the forum. You’re right Penguin45 about the site being full of good thinkers – I hope someone can find some wheels ❗
And it’s a great site too 😀
Thanks to the organisers.

KeymasterRe: Electrolux built-in Refrigerator problems
If the appliance is more than a couple of months old and has been running correctly for the past 2 years i doubt it very much if its due to a lack of refrigerant as the amount that is contained in r600a units is so small it would be noticable in a very short time, the most common fault is that the compressor has overheated due to lack of ventilation when installed causing the seals in the compressor to harden up and crack.
the cost of compressors have come down in the past few years and i have a standard charge depending on size of compressor between £155 to £165 for the total job.bryan

KeymasterRe: Electrolux built-in Refrigerator problems
Has anyone asked if the compressor is running or not? I can see that there has been another posting and the condenser fan is working.
If the compressor is running then maybe a check to make sure the condenser is not blocked up with fluff. If the fan and compressor are running and the condenser is clean then you may be correct in the assumption that the compressor could be at fault.

KeymasterGood advice all – is there any chance of getting a shock or worse still any kind of explosion with a massively coincidental gas leak?

KeymasterRe: Hotpoint RL64 Iced Diamond Larder Fridge – not cold
Dave,
Thanks for your further reply.
Where on the site would be the best place to post my postcode to ask for the services of an engineer?

KeymasterRe: hob ignition
😀 I had the same problem with my homark. The first reply is correct. However, I did speed up the drying process by unscrewing the spark button and putting a COOL hairdryer through the tiny hole – witihin 5 minutes it stopped sparking and now works perfectly. P.S DO NOT use a hot hairdryer – fry your wires. PPS make sure the oven electrics are turned off before attempting.
Good luck
