KeymasterRe: ADP 8224 Dishwasher
An update on my saga!
Well, i heard from QER today and my control panel was faulty and now fixed! Only posted it yesterday morning, wow, what a fantastic service and a full years warranty.
A big thankyou to Martin.
Hopefully will receive it back Friday, and wire it back up (following my notes i made before i disconnected it) and hope all is well.
Thanks again Guys…..
Lolly. 😀 😀 😀

Shupa,
I remember when i first had my ADP8224 installed and i got this code. It was under warranty so called out the engineer.
Turned out that a lead had worked loose on the control module.
Have a look by taking out the 4 screws on the frame and gently prise out the top panel. But be careful it doesnt drop. It is quite easy as i have done this a few times. Check all the connections and try again. Sometimes they work loose with keep opening and closing the door.
Good Luck!
Lolly.

KeymasterRe: ADP 8224 Dishwasher
I am threatening to dump my ADP 8224. I keep getting error code E2 showing even though the book says that code is not used on this model. I am going to get the side fill chamber checked for muck which may be blocking it. I have also read here about reset codes, in relation to opening the door mid cycle. I do this all the time. Could this be causing the E2 code to appear? We have recently aquired this machine when buying our new house, so don’t really know much about it. 🙄
Cheers,

KeymasterRe: ADP 8224 Reset Codes
I open my machine all the time mid cycle, why does it need resetting?

kwatt,
You were right about the dishwasher being in a closed plumbing system. We checked the drain hose and found a lot of stinky gunk in the connector to the trap so goodness knows how much muck is elsewhere in the system. The previous owners had never cleaned the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher either…
We can check the side fill chamber, but if anyone in the area can help out, I am in the SS12 0HE area.
Cheers 😛

Thanks Martin for your kind words.
I know for sure that the first engineer did rip me off although he was only £22. Its my fault because i didnt want to pay MFI really, although i have in the end. However, i find it strange that he didnt even look at the control panel to test it or anything. I could have told HIM that the heat wasnt getting to the element, after all thats what the code E3 meant!!
Although there is a possibility that the panel is beyond help but i am very very doubtful.
Strange though, but the first engineer who came DID look and put his meter on the pcb and said that the heat exchanger thingy was ok, and i looked at the board, and no sign of any burn marks.
My faith has just gone in this and i just dont know what to think now.
I think the engineer should have tested the panel really, i mean is there a way of saying yes it definitely is faulty. Should i phone MFI back and say that i am not happy with what the engineer said. I dont want to rattle any cages…..but i mean £65 and 20 minutes. The control panel is working up to 40 minutes till its time to heat the water.Any feedback greatly received.
Thanks Lads,
Lolly

Does this one have reset codes then, as my MFI engineer didnt say it did yesterday.
He says my panel has gone after he fitted my new thermostat, and the machine still gave an E3 code. He said no heat was getting to the element, therefore new panel required. I still dont know wether to have this done at about £140 ish.Appliance about 3 years old, but i suppose still cheaper than a new one, but if its only gone this long i am not so sure. MFI branded appliances do only tend to last a few years for some reason.

Lolly

Yes, single screw. Look a bit like the Merloni ones. Shall I email direct for the bad news on the price?
Paul G: I would be happy for the supplier info even if just for future ref.
