Re: Diplomat intergrated dishwahser ADP 8132

    Toni,

we saw your message posted recently about the dishwasher ADP8224 and your E2 error code. Has the problem recurred? Do you know a number for Diplomat Customer Care? How do we get to that side chamber you mentioned, to clean it out? The instruction book we have says that error code E2 is not used on model ADP8224 but it is coming up all the time on our machine and now it stops about 5 min into the cycle and won’t go any further.

    Re: ADP 8224 Dishwasher

    🙁 🙁

Well, after 2 engineers later it looks like my dishwasher has had it!

The first engineer said it was my thermostat and NOT the control panel.
Ordered the thermostat but was different to my original.
Called out Extracare engineer (£65.80), who fitted the new thermostat.

Put it on rapid wash to test and got the same fault code E3.

He said it is my control panel and there is no test for it, just to oorder the part at £156.

Alas to say, after i have spent about £120 on 2 thermostats and 2 callout charges i am gutted.

I am going to now dump it, and its a shame the control panel doesnt have its own alarm code as in knackered to save me all the time and money trying to fix the damn thing, which is only 2 years old.

Rant over….now wheres my Hammer before hubby comes home from work!

    Re: Compressor cross-reference

If this fridge on its own is the same size as a under counter tpye then a 1/6 r600a will do if its the larger one then its a 1/5 r600a,most 5′ fridge freezers running on a single compressor are fitted with a 1/5 and small chest freezers and under counter fridgesi.e. norfrost C4’s are on a 1/6 compressor.larger fridges and freezers are run on 1/5 but rarley are 1/4 fitted any longer on majority of appliance,I have found that fitting 1/4 r600a into the maytag / admiral american range the appliances run very happily and a lot quieter ( even though maytag/admiral would have a hairy fit as its not what the americans want as they spent billions producing and formulating R134a).

    Re: Compressor cross-reference

I fit standard whirlpool compressors to all appliances 1/8 481936038705
1/6 481936038704 1/5 481936038675 1/4 481936038637 all these are R600a refrigerants that can be retro fitted to all R134a and R12 units,The simplest way to work out how much R600a refrigerant to equal the old refrigerant is to half the amount of refrigerant I.E. old unit has 130g of R134a it’ll need 65g of R600a.

ive retro fitted for the past 7 yrs and havent had a problem.

You may recieve this virus from any number of sources. The “FROM” address is “SPOOFED” by the virus. You can not rely on the details of who it is from. If you receive an email from LGE.COM for example; it doesn’t mean that LGs systems are infected. It means that someone with an address book contact fo LGE.COM IS infected.

    hi paul…
if you are doing whp d/w do you use sam?

If you are already trained to the point you do whp d/w then u do not need training to specific models just the system in place to be able to ask those of us who would be willing to help in cross sharing info!!!!

not hard..PM your mobile to me and I’ll call you, we can help each other in the future.

thanks for the tip about keeping knowledge of the whereabouts.. I will get in touch with the fire investigator to ascertain whether or not the manufacturers have taken it from the forensics. THANKS .. this is helpful

If the appliance is with a Consulting Scientists like Burgoynes in London I can assure you that they will not release your appliance to anyone, not even the manufacturer. They will more than likely inspect the appliance very carefully with the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s insurer and your insurer present. After that they will present a report to the insurance companies stating what part of the appliance, if any, caused the fire.

The insurance companies will then decide who is liable. It is true that this can take some time.

You lot scare the sh1t out of me!

I am very grateful for the things you have said as we do try, where we can, to improve things and I do take note of the things that irritate you. It is not always possible to change things as fast as I would like and some manufacturers are very difficulty to negotiate with but we keep plugging away.

If some of you could see the amount of effort and hard work put in by Wendy and the girls in the call centre, (You would never get me doing that job. I would be telling the customers where to get off within 10 minutes), you would be amazed that they find time to help with orders, queries and all the other things the agents phone about. They are the strength of ISDAL along with the guys at the sharp end – namely you the service engineers. I had better get off this subject before you call me a sycophant and start throwing up.

I started this reply with “You lot scare the sh1t out me!”

    Re: Drain Hose to Short

Thanks for the help. I have considered getting a longer hose, the only trouble is the drain hose disappears in to the back of the machine and as it’s brand new I don’t fancy farting around inside the machine. It’s a Siemens IQ1633GB btw.

    Re: ADP 8224 Dishwasher

Thanks very much for your help.

Looks like the engineer i called last week wasnt much cop.

Hmmm, looks like an Xtracare callout i suppose, but i was worried i might be wasting my time just incase he says it is the control panel, and that alone in £150ish so i wouldnt think its worth repairing.

Stupid the way these alarm codes work. When the engineer told me in the week it definitely was the thermo i thought great, plugged it all in only to get the same code. How frustrating. Mind you thats why he was only £22 call out charge i suppose. So much for me costcutting.

    Cheers for the advice

    Lolly.

    Re: ADP 8224 Dishwasher

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, i know the thermostats had both gone and have replaced both.
But when i try and use the appliance again it gives me the same alarm code. Is there something i have to press either on the control panel to perhaps reset?

An engineer checked the control panel and said it was ok and that the heat exchanger thingy was ok. He tested the bottom thermostat (already replaced door therm as that had blown also) and said he could only get a reading off of one side. He said to buy the thermostat and told me how to wire it in, but am still getting same code. Makes me think it is something really stupid that somebody might know what i have donw wrong.

It lookes like the new thermostat could be wired up differently as the colours next to the tags are different (everything else looks exactly the same) The new one just has two yellow dots nets to 2 of the lugs and nothing on the other two.The old one has 2 yellow dots 2 white dots.
Therefore, it was wired Loop white to yellow, blue/white to white, red/blue wire to yellow and the other white to white.
Tried copying this to new thermo, so dont know if this is right!

    Cheers

    Lolly.
