    Re: Bernstein!

continuing the work is not through the receiver……

the new company who takes over is the one paying those bills and where is the new contract to protect those who want the continuance…not that its worth a lot if they dont want to pay or cant!

its quite clear cut any monies owed are already lost….do you remember when WAM went……no one got paid (agents that is) and still some of those who operated WAM managed to rise like the pheonix and still not pay those who carried on.

Its about time we learned our lessons from our own history

    Re: Bernstein!

    seek advice…………..

usually you will be able to contra any monies owed to you from any monies you owe.Its a simple process and any receiver will be expecting this to happen.

as to continue working for the new company….lets suppose you earned a clear £10.00 profit from every job.

the company owes you £2500.00 the new company will not pay this.

therefore you need to do the first 250 jobs for no return for your efforts to get bact to zero. You provide free of charge a huge favour to the new company and allow them to make profit from day 1….

At 50 jobs a month, well you can make up your own mind ………

I think I will take the advice that says no thanks and support those of you who are set to lose money you can ill afford

    regards

Thank you for your candid answers to my questions. Guess I’d better look at these Pininfarina machines as well. Just hope the engineering is not Italian as a Fiat Miafiori put me off Italian engineering for life.

    Re: Fighting Back

Why not look into the possibilty of insuring yourselves against a Manufacturer or WP going out of business leaving you with unpaid invoices.

It may be possible to do this under one banner or if not it would have to be done individually, I am not sure. But worth investigating.

The benefit of this is you will know the credit worthiness of the companies that give you work. The Powerhouse senario comes to mind where it was known that their credit rating was £0 weeks before they went down. You would at least know in advance and be able to make decisions about continuing to work for a company before the debt becomes too damaging.

If insurance is out of the question how about a slush fund to pay for regular credit references of your WPs. It doesn’t cost much to do a search.

Re: air locks in hot water system to washing machine

    Hi
Its a Hoover and it is mostly on the 60 deg programme that it doesn’t work, but it is also struggling on the 40 deg when it is trying to add hot water during the wash cycle. Being an old fashioned girl I like to ‘do’ my whites on the hot programmes. I can’t help the way I was raised can I?

Thank you. We are waiting for the builder who built the extension where the machine is now situated to answer our calls ! When he does I want to have a few possible solutions to put to him as he has failed to solve it so far.

Very little if anything can be done to overcome low water pressure/air locks in a hot water system in their association with automatic washing machine inlet valves. The primary reason is that the “Water Head Level” is far too low (The height your cold water tank is above the machine- it should be at least 7 feet) If you live in a bungalow then it should be OK, if you live in a Mobile Home there is very little chance it will work.

The only answer is to install a Pump. (Like they fit if you have a power shower!) Most plumbers can install these very easily and quite cheaply, that should solve your problem?

    Thank you Martin
Any suggestions are gratefully received; we will look into the pump option.

    Re: Public Liabiltity Insurance

we have to have 5 mill of cover, its very costley and no use whatsoever for ripped lino ect as the first £150.00 is our cost anyway. Even if we did claim it will only add to our premiums in future years.

It will be handy for a large claim but I never want to be in that position anyway, another expense that will never go away or reduce……

Personally i would advise to take the measurements to your local glazier and get a new one cut to size which is normally about £6.00.Thats all we was instructed to do when working within expert appliance care.saves on delivery damage exetra.
