Okay, thanks. Could you give me a (very) rough idea of what I should expect to pay please?

How do I do that? Do i have to open anything up (apart from the back panel!)

Thank you for your reply.
I have removed the back panel and the belt is fine. The drum can also be manually rotated and sounds much as it always did, so are the bearings probably okay?
I am not sure about pnc mumber. The only numbers I can find on a sticker inside the door are as follows:
E-Nr.605.648 372 F-Nr.094295696
It also says :
Typ: 44 000 03
645.257 850 LPHope that helps…..:)

toodeep, could you please tell me where you found the 68002KFN for £466 – £575 is the best price I could find. Many thanks. 🙂

Thanks for your reply – I know I want touch control and frameless, but I’m not sure about the need for other features such as ‘fast heat’, boosters, LED display, memory, timers etc. Also, some quote kW eg 1.1kW,2.4kW or 2.8kw – I understand that the higher the power, the quicker the heating but don’t know how much is too little or too much for normal requirements.

Thanks for your replies. I can’t run a pipe easily as the wardrobe is on the opposite wall to the window. The idea of a condenser seems better, and I don’t mind leaving the door open whilst it is in use, but would the clothes hanging in the wardrobe be affected?

I have the same problem with space so was interested to see the mention of putting a dryer in a cupboard. Is this really feasible? I have a large built-in wardrobe in the bedroom which has enough space for one, but wouldn’t there be problems with ventilation?

Thank you for your comments.
Unfortunately it would be impossible to squeeze in a separate dryer and washer, so I have to have a washer-dryer. Any suggestions for make/model for built-in or freestanding would be gratefully received. Also for oven, fridge, freezer make/model.
I appreciate that a gas hob is cheaper and simpler to use, but they can be awkward to keep clean and I can’t help wondering about the glass ones……
I realise that students are not bothered by appearance, but I hope to use the flat myself sometimes – this is not a student property as such – it will not be rented out – and I hope to reclaim it after 3 years, if it’s still standing!!
Thanks once again for taking the time to pass on your very useful advice.:DAugust 14, 2007 at 11:58 pm in reply to: AEG OKO FAVORIT 545 problem with anti-flooding/drain pump #209035AEGowner

Thanks for your help. I took the sides off and searched everywhere but couldn’t find a leak. The matrix seemed to be okay; not leaking, although a little mucky. I am now in the situation where the machine works fine for about ten washes, then the pump comes on, I tip it up and drain it and it works for another ten washes and so on! Obviously there must be a slow leak somewhere, but I have checked all your recommendations and can’t find anything. The engineer told me over the phone that it’s probably the pump and not worth repairing because of its age so was unwilling to come out. I have been in this situation for nearly five months now and although I can use the machine, I’m fed up of all the mopping up!!. Any suggestions please?

I removed side panel and, yes, the matrix does look clogged. I can’t actually see where the water is leaking from though.
Eight years ago, the drain pump came on intermittently and the engineer who came changed both the drain pump and the pressure chamber (which seems to be what you call the matrix). From the information I have given, can you speculate as to whether in this case that would be necessary (and probably not worth it) or if changing the matrix alone would be sufficient (and worth it)?
Incidentally, I DO live quite near to Leeds, so if you’re serious……… 😀 .

Many thanks for your reply. I tried running a hot cycle, which completed successfully ( no water left inside machine and no further noise from pump). However, after a while I noticed a slow but continuous leak on the floor, presumably from water below the wash tank. I rang an engineer who told me that it was probably the circulation pump which would cost approx £160 + labour and I’d be better off buying a new dishwasher. I would be grateful for your opinion. Does your diagnosis still stand? I would appreciate it if you could tell me how I actually access the inside for further investigation, i.e. take sides off or from underneath or back?? Thanks for your help.
