ParticipantRe: ISE 10 1606W
Well decided it was not worth repairing for me (all sorts of weird problems setting programmes, although if could get working went through the programme fine – I presume a control board issue).
Got 8 years out of the Ise10, guess if the 10 year warranty was present it may have been repaired and carried on for ages. Who knows.
Entry level Miele has replaced it.
I loved the concept of ISE, wasn’t happy with how the company, and particularly the warranty, disappeared though.
It lasted as long as the Bosch before it. The search for non throwaway sustainable products continues.

ParticipantRe: ISE 10 W1607W No indication of power
The huge disappointment with ISE is that it was specifically marketed saying that it would avoid this kind of thing.
The cheap, easy supply of parts.
Supporting local independent traders.
The watertight “insurance backed” warranty.
Despite my whinging, mine has been essentially faultless though. Only fair to say that. Now at 7 years. But the idea I’d save the environment, support local traders and have a machine that could easily last 20 years if looked after seems very unlikely. I wonder how many written off within the original 10 year warranty period?
Seems even a small fault now essentially writes them off.

ParticipantRe: ISE 1606W fault
Really feel for people struggling with these machines.
Mine still plods on.
The very opposite of what people bought into and paid loads of cash for.
Such a shame.
At least a parts supply seems to be emerging (although costly and not cheap, cheap parts were another promise of the outfit at set up).ajsdoc
ParticipantRe: ISE w288eco – Drum banging + Cycle doesn’t finish
It seems an awful shame the OP is having to consider scrapping such an expensive machine at a relatively young age.
I doubt it, but I wonder whether you woulkd have reasonable claim against the retailer – machine would reasonably be expected to last longer (was certainly marketed as such).
Really hard on the retailer, with the history of ICE being well known and discussed – but the machine really should last longer. House insurance policies often provide access to free advice.
If bought from a local independent (this was the idea behind this whole scheme) – have they had a look or been helpful?

Thanks.
I’ve gone ahead and done just that!

ParticipantRe: Is my ISE10 machine worth fixing?
I’ve no particular knowledge to impart unfortunately.
Buy well, buy once is what I’ve lived by.
It’s how to buy well, there’s the issue nowadays….
I have followed ISE though from beginning to end.
I’ve said before, most of the failings of the machines and the business appear to be the fault of third parties. This, at least, seems well documented. Unlike the missing insurance backed warranty, which isn’t.

It appears the advice is its all your fault Jane!
I doubt it.

ParticipantRe: ISE10 1606W drum not turning
What should happen now is that an insurance backed warranty kicks in, it was purchased in the purchase fee when the washer was bought.
It remains scandalous that it doesn’t.

Bryan,
Thanks, that’s a helpful reply. Not sure if you were involved with the ISE project, but it seems there could well be a (probably small) market for spares.
Ken, you have a large Internet whitegoods spares website and were very involved with ISE, are Gorenge refusing to supply parts to be distributed through your store? It would just seem the most obvious route – a spares business owned by a previous owner of ISE. It would seem a natural solution to make the best out of a bad job.

ParticipantRe: ISE10 washing machine broken- is repair possible now ?
And so it begins…….
The scrapping of these machines with the promise of longevity and the purchase of a solid warranty just a distant memory.
More threads will no doubt follow.
My views on this project and its failure are well described on here.
Can’t someone ensure a parts supply at the very least?
People paid best part of a grand for these things…ajsdoc
ParticipantRe: I bought an ISE 10
Lee8,
Completely get what you are saying and I’m not so naive (or at least I used to think so!) to believe that products can’t be hyped by marketing to a false value.
Just this machine was said to be very different, quality components and a design that aided repair rather than redundancy were central tenets of it.
My question, to the trade I suppose (although it’s fairly quiet from the trade , on this public forum), is were the machines all they were cracked up to be? Are they just another cheapo machine which mugs fell for?
The accusation would be this is paranoia or lack of trust, but then I’d refer people back to the warranty promises!
I’m really keen to know if the machine really is better made than others in the market or if this was all just hype?

ParticipantRe: I bought an ISE 10
So do you think the quality if the ISE 10 machine has been misrepresented in a similar way that the warranty was?
Was kind of clinging on to the fact that the machine was a good ‘un to not feel utterly ripped off!

“You are not going to get any further than the information I have given you, several times”
But what about the information NOT given, several times? (What went on with the warranty? Where is it? Who is it with? Why is it not available to me as promised?)
“It’s meandering into the realms of desperately clutching at straws”
Where else can it meander with such unsatisfactory answers from a DIRECTOR of the company?
” I do not have the information you are after”
But no clear indication why not, as a director of the company.
“ISE is dead, get over it”
Yes, and that is, by definition, more your fault than mine. I wasn’t running the company.
I accept companies go bust, just this one seems odd and the circumstances (particularly warranty disappearance) still leave more questions than answers.

ParticipantRe: ise
Are the warranties not a tangible asset of the business?
Would they not be shown as such in the accounts?
They must have a value, they were purchased. They were purchases with a 10 year value.
Yes, Id think the value of them must be an asset of the company.ajsdoc
ParticipantRe: ise
More words.
It’s not dead simple. The warranty is shrouded in confusion, has been since the day my machine arrived ( see threads passim). Obviously, and obvious to all.
I cannot believe you had little involvement with ISE: you are all over the Internet promoting it, the machines and its ethos. Literally all over it. You describe warranty claims, the machine, how it was sourced, etc etc, etc,
The warranty a peripheral thing? Come on! Who believes that? It was a key part of you business and the marketing model. Simply madness to suggest otherwise. It was CALLED the ISE10! The 10 = years of warranty!
I know you are “getting fed up of telling me”. Likewise, I’m fed up of the promises made by a company you were a director of. It seems harsh, but only fair if thIs stuck record is annoying.
I’m not an angry man and generally am civil, fair and reasonable. In the agreement between your company and I, I kept my side of the bargain. Utterly and completely. Good payer, recommended your machines and ethos, paid compliment to the machine and those involved where due. No spurious claims for faults. Nothing.
Just a disappointed customer who bought in to it all. Suppose I do go on a bit, I imagine as others like me realise about the failed promises they will too….
