ParticipantRe: AMDEA
Visitors on Sunday were 439 who were logged as they entered the hall. I’m told this is from the issue of tickets prior to the opening day, and the scanning results which gave the actual attendance figure in the door.
Monday was significantly better, and Tuesday was better again. Actual numbers I’ve not had confirmation of. Could have been better.

Where are these figures coming from?
Mine is £971 and that is through Retra (Colemans). I went to 3 brokers who were busines specialists and none of them could get near it, the cheapest was over £1,500.
Maybe my business is a tad different?

.Fair comment, but you get what you seem to pay for, I suppose. If Gorenje comes in our direction, I will be only too happy to work with them.
Be interesting to see how the Viva products fare in time though.

Should be in bed this time of night in any case. Off you go with your Horlicks.
No doubt you have to be up early in the morning to queue outside the post office at 8.30 a.m.
I had a pensioner turn up at our place this morning 5 minutes before we opened wanting to order a part. I suggested it was a bit early especially on a Monday morning when our place is very busy, he then said, ” Oh I would have been earlier if it wasn’t for the traffic”!
So there you are, that is the criteria for getting on in years.

This could be dedicated to Martin.

If you are considering a present, and the use of Amazon will boost funds to the forum:

The latter one I proudly have a copy of, and it is spot on.
But, good news, here is the antidote:

I tried to count the candles on the cake but got bored after 50, at least that’s how many there were on my slice.

Had an interesting chat with one or two on the Gorenje stand.
Quoting clichés etc. All is not in tablets of stone, It aint over till the fat lady sings etc.
It appears they have been considering various options, including ISDA & Domestic & General.
Which-ever, I don’t mind because I was well impressed with the product, and quite happy to include them in our servicing repertoire. So if either of those companies take it up, we will get some of the action.

I think well done to those who put on the show, what a pity it was undersubscribed by the retailers and traders. It wasn’t a Sunday wasted, but I may think otherwise another year.
A lot of effort and money was put up for this, and everything was there except the visitors.
Maybe Monday & Tuesday will have a better attendance? I’d like to think so, otherwise there is a risk of it not being repeated.
Perhaps another year try and hold it somewhere where there are other attractions, or in conjuction with something else.

If I get there I will give Dave a ring.
Apart from the eaterie or bar, I will be mainly around the DAD/Gillmans Stand.

Chris.Sorry, looked all over before I posted it, thought it was on “splat a penguin”, but now you need a password etc. to access the site.
I’d never bothered to look at the links in the past as we didn’t have broadband in the village.

Bit unfair to resurrect this one, but couldn’t resist.
Need to look out for some Goat ones I suppose. Enjoy.

Now we know, their H.Q. is only 2 junctions up the M3 from Martin. It all falls into place now.
They had some good policies in the past.
I recall one of them was for Lorries to Drive on the left hand side of the road, and cars on the right.
Some of the gems from the latest maifesto:- Introduction of a 99p coin to save on change.
On education, bright pupils will be provided with dimmer switches to prevent them distracting the rest of the class.
We will replace the House of Lords with the House of Cards, to make it easier for the Government to deal with.
All police will be made to say HELLO, HELLO, HELLO when making an arrest, this will treble the police force.
Some people have too much time on their hands.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Hoover Keymatic (circa 1970) Model 3221, (for Martin’s benefit to assist with identification, the one with the clutch built between the sloping front & matchbox range).
Customer worked at the local nuclear power station, which always rang alarm bells as they thought they were one better than the rest. Well known in this area for having a go.
Complaint, sticking on cycle.
Get there, open the top, hinge up lid and on this old model the timer would lift up with the lid. Customer immediately said, “Did you bring a timer”? Took a look, the timer was held together with nuts & bolts, instead of the usual hollow rivets. He’d had it to bits, and sure enough it was doing all sorts of silly things.
In goes new timer, and it overfilled, bloke says, “there you are, that’s funny the fault is still there, you’ve obviously just fitted a duffy timer”.
Had great pleasure in pointing out the perished air pressure pipe at the rear. All it needed was a new tube at about 40p. Timer in those days fitted was a weeks wages.

There is an article on the front page on this, as well as a running Hotpoint thread all relating to lay the offs. Blythe Bridge in Staffs is also affected.
