ParticipantRe: DASA Again And The Current Position
I’m looking at this with more than a little interest.
O.K. It can be said I may have started something, well if that comes up I will just point out that it was DASA that failed to stop something; or perhaps failed to get going even. Ostriches are not only indigenous in the African savannah it seems.
I wish I could be there on Thursday, but I’m sure there are people out there that will be speaking on my behalf. Just reading the ripple effect of all this speaks volumes.

God I remember those, Bulpitt Ltd. Used a kettle in the base with 2 3Kw elements.
You had to set the door handle to 3-0-clock whislt you loaded it, by the time that was done, the water was up to temperature. Then shut the door and crank the door lever to 6-0-clock, and it was away. Whilst the wash was under way with the pre heated water, the rinse water was heating in the kettle, so simple yet nobody has taken up the idea since.
All mechanical on the timer, nothing to go wrong, not even a pump in the early days, just a dump valve. The very early ones had a liner which was covered in blue plastic, and when it started to come off, meant a cavity change, pig of a job.
Good old days, NOT. Nostalgia is not what it used to be.

Should think it o.k. Mind you he will be reading the above if he comes back, as well as reading this.
Bloke amazes me, but I won’t go into that. I have to say he seems Kosher to me, but I don’t know him that well.

£300 + Vat and it will be a bargain.
Anywhere within 2 hours E/W driving & I will deliver provided there’s a pie & pint in it for the trouble of having to deliver, now there’s an offer.
Get a compass out and draw a circle 120 miles of M5 Junction 24 if interested.

I’m already voting with my feet. I made it semi public that I’m a dissatisfied customer and I’m questioning the value for money.
To date there is nothing in place to convince me otherwise, the only comforting statements has been from Jason, & I’m sure he’s frustrated by all this and being kept in check out of respect. It is a case of people being too polite with Chris and cannot face the reaility of him gone. Consider one thing, he will be gone anyway in a few years if not sooner, and the job would have been left for the grim reaper. He may as well bow out now with dignity and someone needs to tell him.
I regret having renewed my subscription, however still being on the inside gives me access to see if there will be a change. There is 12 months now for me to be convinced to renew next year.

Participantkwatt wrote:Alex if you can output them onto a spreadsheet I could fire them up in a bit of space on UKW for you and see if anyone wants to buy any of it? Just a thought.
K.Yes it is a good idea, problem is there are loads of parts here and the Candy stuff isn’t labelled, which was usually the case with that lot in the old days.
Ideally I’d like to dump the lot in a box and someone pay me a figure for all of it. I’m not even looking for cost price, I’m happy to sell at 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cost just to get rid of it, but buyer takes all & has to cover carriage.
Any takers?

You will never believe this, they have come back again, this time with another Rossieres cooker that needs attention.
It started last week where a customer phoned us requesting a service call on the cooker. We gave her a potted history and told her why we were unable to attend, and gave out the Gias service number.
On Weds this week, we had a service call from Gias at Bolton, once again we gave them a history lesson and reminded them that in 1999 they deemed that their Hoover engineers were superior to us, and they were able to steal ALL our Candy group work. As clearly they had the expertise and of course the required skills, therefore we decided they can get on with it.
Yesterday we had a fax from ISDA asking us to attend, I politely sent it back with a few comments regards cheek etc. They (Gias) said they could do it, now they need to put something in place to prove it.
What part of, You dumped on us from a great height do they not understand!!
When they recognise we were left with a few £-thousand worth of useless parts and will allow a return & refund I will talk to them.
I didn’t do an “up yours” when we finished with them but they never even answered my letter.

Today will go down in history in this office. I’ve received a cheque from L.G. along with a very nice letter from Hazel Elliot. This is settlement of the accounts from 2002/2003 and about time. To add to my delight, they are up to date this year as well and all is reconciled.
Don’t ask how I done it, put it down to charm.
There was a computer failure at L.G. a couple of years ago and they lost the lot so they told me. I’m glad I never lost the plot though.
I will probably continue the work through ISDA, I know it means a drop of £8 per call, but the risk factor covers this.
For those who are waiting, the contact name is Steve Burfoot at L.G. He deals with the warranty claims and spares invoicing.

Well said Del, I think we must have been separated at birth.
Who should be the successor though? it would have to be someone who can work with Chris for the short term. He would have to appear as lax as Chris to begin with to gain his trust, yet show more passion and take ownership of the issues. Once Chris has then been gently sidelined the new person should then be able to “up a gear” and do a bit of ass kicking.
There will be a lot of attributes reuired to take this on, and age is a consideration. if too old, then there will be little time to get the house in order. If too young they won’t take him, seriously. The problem is as I said in the beginning, this could be beyond salvation.
A senior representative from a manufaturer who is an associate member, tells me that they have been watching the DASA situation since Chris had a stroke, and they cannot understand why he is still there.
What we need to avoid is when he passes his mortal coil, we don’t want his epitaph to read, “Here Lyeth DASA who passed away along with the controller who would not bequeath this in his last will & testament.”

ParticipantRe: REMOVAL OF TOPIC
I thought it may not be too bad him coming back as perhaps he would contain himself a bit and stop bloody rambling on.
Sainsburys, Vaseline etc. What is he on?……He is coming out with more shite than ever, perhaps someone ought to phone him up late on a Saturday night. It will then take him the best part of Sunday morning clearing it all off again.

ParticipantRe: Disclosing Confidential Information
Zanussi came up with this one when they went into Service Force. One of the criteria was to provide them with a copy of my audited accounts annually.
I simply told them that the only people to see those would be:-
The Tax Man, The Vat Inspector, My Accountant and perhaps my Bank Manager if I wanted to give him the information.
They never followed that one up as I’m sure other agents told them something similar.

p.s. LG Electronics keep getting a mention in this section. It will soon be time for me to post something on their thread, I’m still awaiting a payment. Give it another week and it may happen.

ParticipantRe: LGH
Graham spoke to me on Monday, he did say he wanted it kept at a low profile, pity he didn’t tell everyone that. I’m not putting anything into the general forum as it will look like that LGH are being serious and are contacting several prospective agents.
I did pass his e-mail address to Ken and asked Graham if that would be o.k. He was well up for it. I do suspect they are just dabbling at the moment, or looking at the market place to see what is expected in the way of rates etc.
He was going to peruse the DASA list, probably won’t take long to do that. This is why Mark Garner got wind of it I suspect.
