If he took the picture from the other side would have been more presentable.

Watch this space for pump, door lock, inlet valve, board door assy & of course a pair of worn out brushes for starting price of £8 each.

    Re: A certain poster!

    He is kite flying.

He used to sub for a Service Force agent, was originally on the books, then left as soon as he completed the training. Went self employed & whilst subbing for his old boss used to pinch customers and jobs when it suited. I gather the JTM contract followed him because his ex boss binned JTM when he left. He used to upset customers and eventually went his own way totally.

He is a nobody with no connections etc. One man band and that is it. Needs to be caught out one day, and it will happen as he will release some little clue in his rantings & then get “outed”

He has generated interest in the right places though.

    Watch this space.

Agreed, first saw him live in 1970 when he was part of the original Irish Skid Row. What an axe player.

Got a few of his albums, best being Blues for Greeny.

    isolated is a good word

I think you may be right regards isolated.

For a start there will be no pool of ideas etc. Nobody who will say “Ah I’ve had that, look at the heater, pressure switch or whatever”. Nobody who will offer to look at a wiring diagram with you, tell you how to get a certain pig of an evaporator out, or offer to assist on a difficult call. A manager or team leader can only do so much, and will need to be hands on to keep up to date. For example I haven’t had a lid off a machine in over 10 years.

In the past I’ve taken on engineers that have been Ex Brit Gas, Ex National Homecare & lately Ex MFI. All of them have remarked re the great feeling camaraderie and badinage with other engineers they see on a daily basis. It has been remarked to me that it is a lonely life out there for the remote engineer, and there have been positive comments regards team feelings.

Sadly in this day & age cut-backs are part of everyone’s vocabulary, but not always for the better.

Re: Try this for an eye opener

You have a civil case against the scrapyard for handling stolen goods.

I would tell my insurers everything and demand payment in full for the value of the stolen goods. If they are not prepared to progress the matter on your behalf and to their benefit, they are not worth using, and I would make that clear. May pay to use the services of a solicitor against the scrapper.

I still smell a rat on this and have a feeling the thief was known to them, and they acted in a totally unprofessional manner. Probably not for the first time. Might even be worth a discreet visit or phone cal to them and even reporting to trading standards or local press.

Already in another topic in the Rumour Mill under DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts pages 14 & 15.

I have had the phone calls and then hear the drop in the voice when I let them know I only buy parts for their service calls. Stock etc comes from elsewhere.

Until the rate change they were my preferred supplier outside of manufacturers. Once the rate dropped I opened an account with Qualtex.

What is your insurance company doing about this?

No doubt you are fire & theft, surely they should be considering clawing this back from the Scrapper.

I fancy it was one hell of a co-incidence that this scroat took the vehicle to be scrapped at a time when the site was down.

    Re: Texting from a pc

Agree with Ade. We use fastexts. As with Ade, templates set up reminding customers we are calling, you can delay the send time and alsorts.

Popular mobiles are set up as well, such as engineers etc.

Also if there is another call to send to an eng we text him, and as they have free access to the office phone thay call us when they are ready in order to take the call, or answer any query.

We buy units in Thousands, so we have the cost down to below 4p per text.

I really shouldn’t add to this so I will post only once.

What things in your opinion need changing, and do I take it you mean from within the WTA.

I have one comment; if you are not part of the solution, you must be part of the problem!
