    Re: MFI

Spoke to Mark Ridler again this morning, asked him who is he working for today? He was quite ebullient and considering the circumstances sounded cheerful. He tells me that his boss has stated he will guarantee all agents are paid in full, I’ve suggested he puts out an official statement, preferably signed. As If!!

He knows we have ceased operations with them for the time being, and I’ve advised AIG are on stop for non-payment issues. He concurred there are problems with AIG.

If you notice there are no calls coming through, he tells me that they are migtating into a new IT system.

note this was written with some cynicism

Terry Jackson, or John Bacon probably the best bets. However thay will probably respond better if the directive came from their boss, Kevin Wheeler.

Best way to get hold of him is phone the Luton office, and get a message to him.

They owe me about £750, but I owe them £500 plus as I haven’t paid them since 12 August. So it is my fault.

Yes he is, but predominately on the Brown goods side.

Prior to TWG/AON he was with Merloni for a long time.

Last week of the month I would say, Friday Saturday, 27th & 28th. I imagine you want to make a show of this one, and might be looking for a bigger venue.

You never know, I may be able to make that one. Have been making a few changes to the office and my role, so hopefully might get my life back.

It must be this then, http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sout … 652437.stm

I saw the programme last week, and this coming week the Football Club is featured, so look out for Lardy Matelots.

It’s when they offer the cuppa just as you are walking out the door.

If offered one whilst I was working on the appliance, I used to leave it until it was at a drinkable temperature. Before you know it, “Oh that must be getting cold!” Mug snatched away and “Nuked” in the M/Wave for 2 mins.

What happened though regards those that lost their jobs?

Another point is, what is happening now or in the future regards the work in that area? I’ve heard of direct service, and other agents expanding.

Think bit may be a different one, Ken picked it up some time ago, and I seem to recall, checked it out. Even K.H. himself would not be that stupid to come back with his actual name.

Nevertheless, I bet he has been in UKW somewhere under an alias, probaly set himself up in the early days, and left sleeping.

    ?? I know nothing ??

I imagine Service power are in the shite in any case, I suspect they have very few agents now. We trialled them just for the hell of it, and was talked round by Terry Jackson.

They would pay you from a web-based system, and you only got to know the lab rate when claearing the call. We had 1 for Allianze Cornhill, and it was £32.50. I phoned them up and told them if that is the rate, Stuff it.

They carried on sending calls which I e-mailed back, and in the end had an e-mail saying sorry to lose you. That was it. There is nobody else in this area, so I don’t know what they are doing.

Regards Candy Hoover, as I said, haven’t heard a thing, if I have a hint at what is going on, I may be able to find out though

This will put a smile on a few faces.

Spoke to Mark Ridler today, he told me he had just cancelled the D/Debit for his holiday insurance.

    Yes you guessed it, A.I.G.

    I rest my case.

You’re suggesting that the subscribers/WTA fund pays for a buffet for UKW members who may never have contributed to this fund :?.

    Nah, I must be mis-reading this 😯
    Bryan

    Hear Hear!

May I suggest instead of a full UKW meeting in the Early Spring, have a T.A. meeting at Sibson, and then if it is felt appropriate to utilise funds, at least those that have provided could benefit. If then for example any one of us did not make it for whatever reason, we cannot carp regards how the funds were utilised as we all are payers into the kitty, and we were the ones invited.

…………..So if the users, like yourself and Alex or whoever else on here, wants a closed area that’s just fine by me. You set the criteria and the cost, if there is to be any, not me and not UKW. All UKW does is implement it, admin it and account for it……………

Just thought there was a differential between the TA and the subscribers. I came into that sector as a subscriber because I wanted to offer a sum towards being a member, and if there was anything that came on the back of it, that would be a bonus.

I think the best thing is to let it rest.

    As from today, Yes.

They still owe me for some going back to April. I’ve had unsigned cheques, disputes on MFI claims regards Smeg appliances where I’ve charged the Smeg price as they have the MFI matrix on prices (The Smeg price is sometimes cheaper). Refusal to pay where MFI have sent the job with a different name on the policy as it was registered in the builders name.

To compound the iissue they don’t tell us when there is a dispute, they rely on me chasing them. They have intimated that in future all claims will be verified only after being inputted by the repairer on their computerised system, and expect me to double key all the claim details.

As per the American credit troubles and rumours regards the stability of AIG, I’m not taking the risk.

I suspect I will upset MFI as I’ve told them by e-mail of my intent. I daresay they will tell me I’m paranoid, and nobody else is jittery.

We have passed the email onto Paul Brooks he has asked that you call him immediately to discuss. His contact number is 01707362000.

Simple as that. I haven’t phoned him yet as I’m away from the office and doing everything remotely. (Wife not very well, sudden cardiac scare and awaiting further investigation/results).

I wonder if there is any other MFI agents who have actually done the same as I have, or at least threatened MFI that they are about to.
