Thanks muchly. I’ve never repaired microwaves though. It has lost some of its options which you used to be able to cycle through and it sometimes gets confused by displaying wrong options altogether. I also suspect it gives more power than it should on low microwave settings.
Does it sound like the control panel would fix it and is it easy to replace?

ParticipantRe: Dyson CR01 update ?
Just had the upgrade done and I’m very impressed. Service was great. I even got an unexpected courtesy call in the morning advising of a 2 hour window when he would be arriving.
Apart from new software, they replaced the interlock the soap dispenser tray and even a small plastic part of the filter which had been improved. I got the impression that some of these updates are not critical save-our-skin updates but genuine improvements that Dyson preferred to fit for customer satisfaction.

ParticipantRe: Cheapest Genuine HPT carbons?
I had quite a few when the armature was perfectly OK. I eventually fitted the old black ones instead which I reasoned was better than having the armature knackered up by the laminated brushes or having to fit a new motor.

ParticipantRe: Cheapest Genuine HPT carbons?
I see, the price was for ordinary ones. My fault for confusing the issue. I will probably keep buying from wash vac thanks but I ought to buy in bigger quantities if only to save on p&p. I don’t do too much business with them these days but I’ve used them for about 20 years and I’d like to keep my account open. They are very good at sending parts direct to my customers and the paperwork to me, which I need for my web site orders.

Oops. I put the wrong part number. I meant 1600474. I don’t fancy buying 200. I use about 10 a week. Currently pay £3.99 each for 10 laminated @ wash vac as I order them 10 at a time. I will see if I can get 50 @ £2.57 – cheers
(that’s a saving of £71 plus 4 lots of carriage charges.)andy_art_trigg
ParticipantRe: newest model Neff and Bosch dishwashers-beware
Who would ever bother testing continuity of new parts? I bet you do from now on – for a few weeks or months – then decide it’s so unlikely to result in anything that you slip back to just whipping it out and fitting it 😉 And there’s nowt wrong with that. I’ve done it for nearly 29 years and never had such a thing as 0 Ohms on a new part. What a freaky fault!

Will do, as soon as I can get it scanned.

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2260UK/01
I had one a few weeks back. It was for a Bosch Dishwasher and smply would not configure. Wouldn’t go into the configure mode.

There is a list of Indesit model numbers and the correct eeproms. If you want any looking up let me know.

AFAIK if it doesn’t have a details icon there isn’t any futher info.

ParticipantRe: The Great EEPROM scam
It’s on the “details” section. At the side of the eeprom and PCB part listings is the details icon signifying there is additional information for this part. Clicking the details icon brings it up. It’s just above the parts listing box.

Exactly what I used to do – and eventually ended up with no sustainable business left. I wouldn’t do any different though as I trully believed it was the best for the customer. If I had my time again I’d make sure I also repaired quality machines instead of relying on the common rubbish which is now mostly uneconomical to repair.

I find it’s pump blockages much of the time, or siphoning sometimes. Occasionally the thermistor.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint/Indesit TD drum support wheels
For anyone interested, the modification kit is 1703273 and contains 5 bearing pads (1702755) a rear bearing (1703014) and a drive belt (1703274).
The bulletin says to remove the wheels but leave the brackets attached. Fit the bearing pads and the rear brg and belt.
Not sure why the brg and belt change but it says the new belt is the 6 rib version so presumably it’s stronger.

jimbo2207 wrote:for the machines with the one jockey wheel, the technique I use (which works well and is quick), undo and remove one of the bolts which hold the jockey wheel bracket to the motor frame, and loosen the other one. lever the bracket upwards until it’s in contact with the motor shaft. That will allow the belt to be fed over the wheel, with an extension bar lever the wheel and bracked back down and pop the bolt back in.
I’ve heard of others using this method – but I couldn’t get to the bolt furthest away. Besides, the method I described takes just 30 seconds if you miss out the heating up with a hair dryer. There’s no need to mess about undoing anything.
