    Re: New Machine… 1

When I turned up and looked at the machine, the machine looked brand new. No rust and still gleaming. The cabinet paint had not gone an off white colour since it was sitting in full sunlight near patio doors. I asked the customer how old it was and she said the machine was 14 years old. To my supprise, the machine still had the original winding type pump with the metal clip over the filter. Even the front panel at the bottom did not fall off in my hands.

IMO, a classic machine which is still going strong and now quieter.

Have you a wiring diagram for this model?
    Is it a CD601SS or CD601/2SS?

Sorry, how much was it again for door seal and bearing change?
Three hours it took me last Thursday to replace these parts on an ASKO machine.

    Re: Burning smell

We swapped over a machine for ISE with the same fault described above with over filling. It also would not go onto test mode and would not start on select programmes. When it did start after pushing in the selector dial quite hard, the machine just overfilled.
Took the module out, away from the fasia and found selector not assembled properly and knob spindle not clipped in properly.
re-built selector and clipped in spindle, put back together and working on a test bay for two weeks with no problems at all.

Re: Good reason for not giving away information…

We give all our parts their own bin numbers not that we have something to hide, it makes it easier to keep stock record in stores and we know where the part is and tells us if it has been signed to a job, used or not used. A lot less confrontational.

Yep, all knobs are the same and the shafts are the same size too.
Dave, can we buy the parts from yourselves?

    Dave

I have stripped this thing right down and inspected every part, panel, drawer and even the customers floor, just incase the sticker got hot and fell under the appliance but still nothing.
Thanks all the same. I think it is a 4040

    Cheers Dave

‘cant believe that people are crazy enough to do refrigeration repairs for £30. This is an area of specialism’

Does this mean the rates going up then? 😉

    Re: GB DAR

If someone or manufacturer offered me and my engineers work, these forms will be the first to be shown. If I sub-contracted our work (which I don’t) I would ask for insurances and certificates and copies of them. If they have not got it, they don’t get the work full stop.
It seems very strange to me this has not been done and certainly not with us, as it is a legal requirement. BUT, to have these important things, the right rate of callout must be paid for completed work.
How can we afford all these insurances and things if we are being paid £16.00 a call. I think the word GREED comes to mind especially that I found out they still get paid full rate. The other thing that has annoyed me is we have had more running costs than GB to get to the call. Then you have to wait 60 days to be paid. As my terms are 30 days, they are getting interest on my money aswell. £16.00 a call will put 17.02 litres of desiel in one of my vivaros let alone pay engineers wage, office staff, etc, etc, oh and not forgetting the insurances.

    One very, very, very unhappy
