Re: WTA (Whitegoods Trade Association), The Future!

How about cracking a deal with a company for accepting credit and debit cards.

I got a great deal when I was a member of the FSB(and still have it although I am no longer a member) but I feel this would be another benefit for members.

    Re: ID Card Idea

Does having an expiry date mean we have to go to the expense of getting new ones made each year?( when I say we I mean the WTA)

I know this means that it better controls who can get them but would maybe a 2 or 3 year card be better?

    Just an idea

Re: For Those That Missed It…

What`s the “no mark up on spares” bit?

I take it this must just be on the warranty repairs.
Is the payment for warranty calls the same as the Ise5? and what will happen after the 2 year warranty if a customer comes into the shop to buy a part to fit themselves? Will the spares prices at this time be available for the public to view and buy from UKW and where will that leave us spares retailers?

Just a few queries to start……..

    Re: Which Local

The trouble with these sort of sites is that if people have a gripe then they will post a review but very few will post if the service they get is good. So really I doubt you will get a recomendation but “cowboys” will get reviewed and may avoid people phoning them So you may get the work in the long run.

One other thing is that you will always get the customer who you can`t please and these are the ones that will rip you to shreds in an anonymous review. The people I am talking about is like the one I had last week who thought charging them £23.50 for diagnosing a fault on their machine and them deciding that they would be better buying a new one because of the price. I thought the man was going to burst a blood vessel.

Never a problem that they don`t sort out and if they don`t I phone the rep.

    Re: Whitegoods Licence

Having “googled” second hand dealers licence it would seem this is a Scottish law run by local councils.

It can`t be “complete bollox” as I used to have one and it cost me £125 per year, and police checks to get it in the first place. I then had spot checks of my register by trading standards and the police to ensure that everything was recorded properly and that none of the goods I was selling were stolen.

I`m with Petalpop here. I`ve dealt with Connect since 1993 and use them for 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my spares. Never a problem that they don`t sort out and if they don`t I phone the rep.

Seem to get decent prices too. I`ve had other companys reps in but they cannot compete.

    Re: Whitegoods Licence

He would need a second hand dealers licence.

Maybe this is what they mean.

Re: For Those That Missed It…

I was going to sell it at £279.99 with free delivery and installation. I have been selling the Gorenje 1400 spin at £259.99 and it comes with 2 year guarantee but I was buying it cheaper than the Ise2 and at this price I was selling them faster than I could get them in.

I think next to the ISE10 and ISE5 this will give some credence to the ISE2 and therefore allow you that little bit extra.

There is a thermal cutout in the motor and I`ve had this go open cct. Easily checked with a meter if you remove the right hand side panel.
