i think emw fitted a new transformer on one for me once, they usually only do the no heat fault but because i could see it was the transformer at fault they sorted it. makes a worth while job of it.

if the machine is completely nogo then it could certainly be other things, even burnt out field coil on pump can cause nogo.

50vac is not enough, it should be 240vac, when you connect the wires you are putting a load on the line causing the voltage drop, especially if there is a loose connection or break in wire.

if you have little or no voltage going to the valves then there is a supply problem, possibly from the pcb. as long as your sure it should be filling at this point. i would certainly check that all connections to pcb are clean and tight, pull off each edge connector and pinch them hard with your thumbs. also check for worn or broken wires.
    fingers crossed!

i think you will find that it was probably the pressure vessel that was full of s*** and not the pressure switch which is the electrical switch near the top of the machine way up out of the water level.

miele motors are usually expensive but if there was no burn smell or noise its probably something else. not sure of anyone in Fulkirk that repairs vacuums.

    cheers Don
i think i will open an account and give it a try, sometimes the customer will pay a little more if there going to get it quicker, and more accounts gives me more chance of finding somebody with the item in stock.

i was thinking of opening an account with DAD but i see there is a £35.00 delivery charge on orders under £500.00, are there prices that much better than Inmans!, as there is only £100.00 minimum with them which means i can order just one washing machine at a time if needed. Its good to have more choices so could give the customer more options.

i think its tacho fault, this means the circuit board is not sensing any movement from the motor. it could be tacho coil at fault or loose or broken magnet at the end of the motor, also broken wires to the tacho. worse case is circuit board fault. also check that the drum and motor turns easily. if its tight there could be something between the drums stopping it from turning. hope this helps,
    remember unplug before you start.

yes there was probably a metal plate with threaded holes which has probably dropped down inside the machine. the best way to gain access to it is to remove the wire band and then fold back the door seal. (with the power off and plug out) you should be able to find the metal plate. once you find it you should be able to sort it out, the trouble is it is easier with two people so you might have to wait for the misses to come home, you dont want to drop the door and smash the glass now.

if there was no burning smell or horrible noises from the motor its certainly worth getting it looked at. we repair them but iam not sure where you are.
