usually just get blocked in the sump under the filters, you can just get your fingers in around. but you may have already tried that.

dont forget to iron those items before you wear them Martin 😉 , your quite right they are a good option as long as you are aware of the down sides. i am sure some of the modern zanussi or electrolux machines do quite a good job of drying without getting too choked up, also i think the trickle of water used in the condenser isn’t on all the way through the cycle, better if you are on a water meter. you can only dry half a load, so if you select wash and dry you can only wash half a load, so maybe getting the larger drum size would be best. zanussi (ZWD14581W1) do this one with 1400 spin (better the spin speed less work for the dryer) and 7kg load.

the holes in the seal are there to allow any trapped water to run back into the the main tray.

if the water level is ok as you mentioned then the fault will not be in the pressure system. best left alone at this point and try to find another reason.

yep i agree with steve, if there are no broken wires in the door loom (usually the thin wire returning from the thermostat). then carry out a temperture check, if it is getting too hot the toc will keep operating on and off keeping it stuck at a constant high temp and not advancing the timer. seen a good few of these on neff and bosch, look both sides of that loom as often the other wires are breaking as well.

when you say it takes 45 mins to reach temp, does the pilot light not go out during this time. if the pilot is going on and off but the temp is too low then i would recon on slow fan speed. other wise i have seen only part of element working as philfish said.

make sure the pump impellor behind the filter moves, use a torch once you have cleared all the water to see if there is something wrapped around it or if something has got through the filter and jammed it.

make sure the top basket is straight. there is a height adjustment on these, if you have it set high on one side and low on the other the basket does not align with the water feed correctly causing pressure on the door. seen this a couple of times now.
