ParticipantHi Dave I’ve been phoning Neff on a weekly basis and there was nil stock in the U.K. and Germany.
Phoned again this morning and was told there was just 1 in stock in Germany.
This would have to be sent to the U.K. and then have to be programmed before being sent out to me which could another 2-3 weeks.
Don’t think the customer wants to wait any longer.chuffy
ParticipantYes Dave I agree.
It’s a job in a tenanted property and the oven is only just over a year old.
I’ll have to explain the options to the landlord either just to charge for my initial call out and diagnosis/research or whether they want to gamble that the part on eBay will do the job. Their call.
Thanks for your help and watch this space.

ParticipantThanks again if you could send as 1 doc I would appreciate it.
my email. ncdar @hotmail.com
On a different matter perhaps you can enlighten me.
What constitutes being a Junior or Senior Member?
I’ve been in the domestic appliance repair game since 1972 so I’d certainly class myself a senior.

ParticipantHi Dave
Thanks again for the wiring diagrams.
If possible could you please send again but you include the part of the diagram that is missing.
It is the part that would show the function switch and tells you which contacts are open/closed in the different positions.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Cheers.

ParticipantHi Dave.
An update on this problem.Customer called out Hotpoint and it turned out to be the on/off switch not functioning.
Apparently it’s quite common that the switch works loose so that when you press the button nothing happens. You live and learn!
Cheers.

ParticipantThanks Dave yes I’ve just looked at the post you forwarded.
The fixing studs are retained in the handle by a spring clip which has to be prised apart to release the handle.
Will go back and have another more forceful go.

ParticipantHi Dave.
Sorry for late response I’ve been away since 8 June and just picked up your message.
Yes I’ve checked all the wiring, door switch, float switch etc.
Probably needs the software in the module resetting.
I’ve given up on it now.Cheers.
Noel.

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thanks for the response.
Originally I was called out to this job because it was “dead”
Whilst I had the machine on its side I removed the base and disconnected the float switch whilst I accessed the terminal block to check the mains in supply.
The machine then suddenly kicked into life and obviously because the float switch was not in circuit flood protection was activated.
I reconnected the float switch and put the machine back to the upright position but no matter what I do cannot clear the error code.
No water contamination and the switch is function correctly.
Cheers.

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thanks but unable to initiate test cycle because appliance won’t switch off using on/off button.
As soon as power is connected to the machine the error code is activated and I can’t reset.
Cheers,
Noel. -
