    If the float is removed then the salt light goes out, so that why I thought that if float stuck down then light stays on.

    Not had this fault on this model but it has a float in the salt container, remove salt cap and it is on the right hand side with yellow or green cap
    It could be the float has stuck. If you remove the cap you can get the float out with long nosed pliers, make sure not to drop cap or float into salt. Only other thing I can think is rely on board. Hope this is some help.

    Part no for the front retainer including spring is 6040440
    Part no fpr the rear retaining band is 5539182 both are £6.99 each plus VAT. Only from Miele 01235 233133

    only W4380 I can find are W4380X0GB/11 or W4380X1GB/01 both use part no 289500 or CDS part no GSK9038 oR QUALTEX part no QUADBT93

    Control facia panel comes complete with buttons part no 6855090 £34.08
    plus vat. Detergent drawer facia part no 6980970 £24.42 plus vat
    Part no for buzzer button if you need it is 6663620 .62 pence plus vat

    Third light down is fill ring temp sensor open or short circuit.

    Is the machine filling very slowly, if so its normally waterproof valve at tap .Can only be changed as an assembly part no 5268992 £100.53 +vat
    Take fill hose off at machine end and see what flow rate is like.
