    Re: beat the speed cameras

I just trust my Road Angel, it has regular updates for the latest camera positions and blckspots. The best bit is you can store new mobile trap positions which upload onto the database, so if anyone has seen a plod with a hairdryer (or a marked van/speed trap) at the side of the road then the updates alert you up to 2km before you get there 😉
Ohhh..and…since we have a general election looming, the best bit is the latest road regulations bill is getting dropped so the laser detector is still legal for the forseeable future! :rotfl:

Could very well be the brushes Lawrence, had one do just that, however the armature was so bad it needed a new motor. Incidentaly, you can often hear if the armature is about to let go by turning the drum by hand…listen for the tell tale clicking of the commutator segment thats about to blow 😉

If the wash pump is completely silent then that actually bodes well…could be a boken wire for example, in which case its worth calling an engineer for a diagnosis 😉

    Re: Interesting Idea

    Indeed!
My only concern would be the state of the greywater storage tank…we all know what a washing machine smells like when its been left full of water for a couple of days 😉
Useful to save water though…I see one water authority in London has already put a hose ban on for this year due to water shortages.

Sorry Martin….M/O = Main Oven…and yes, I can’t find it listed either but the customer swears blind that the number is correct, lifted off the manual 😉
I’m not due until fri so If I can get a stat before that’d be grand, but it looks like i’ll have to reccy the stat on the machine 🙁

Re: powder drawer Hygena Diplomat APM 8512

    Hi sooz
Not sure of that particular model but most dispenser drawers will come out if you either lift the centre of the extended drawer up whilst holding the sides down…in other words gently flexing the middle of the dawer up and over a catch underneath, or occasionally you may need to press the centre of the extended drawer down on the middle. In the latter case you will see where to push on the top near the back of the drawer.
Even rarer, you simply need to grasp with both hands and continue pulling until the drawer comes right out.
As long as you don’t use extreme force then you should be ok!

When you’ve got it out, you could usefully clean the top of the box inside which will stop the jets from blocking 😉

    Re: Neff GB1051 D/O

unfortunately no Dave…they’re not the long ones, ‘normal’ sort of size. Kitchen Economy still list them but they don’t fit…in fact the last pair i ordered from them came as two entirely different hinges in the packet sold as a pair!!!

Re: Ariston LI 62 Door jumped off

It is possible that the hinge has jumped off the pivot it rests on…many dishwashers rely on the weight of the door and the spring tension to hold it on.
You can lift it back on by holding the door nearly closed and lifting gently against the spring tension and ‘feeling’ for the correct position to relocate it.
If the door became unhooked by unusual forces being applied (moving the machine by holding the open door for example) the refitting it is no problem but if it came off during normal operation then something may have broken in which case you need an engineer to sort it for you. (Repairs@)
