Hold up!…that 1 in the display could be a ‘no heat’ error code, have you checked the pcb for dry joints?

    Just a thought…..

I think that would be described as ‘close enough for jazz’! 😆

    Nice one!

They fill, trip p/s, then the wash pump cuts in and the p/s drops out, continues to fill until p/s cuts in again? Have you checked the wash pump and start cap Chris? If they’re ok then triac on the pcb would be my bet too 😉

Having looked in the oven compartment my wife noted that part of the lower grill elemnt has perished and broken off! Could this be the problem? Would it stop all electrical functions of the cooker?

No…the grill is obviously faulty and will need to be replaced, but you must have another problem there…unfortunately it’s quite possible that when the element let go it took other things with it. 😕

It’s also quite possible that the lack of power is unrelated and the only way to check is with a meter.

Don’t forget power off if you’re having a go yourself, or if it’s beyond you then click the link below for an engineer near you?

Yes you’re quite right it was a sweeping generalisation for which i apologise, there are some one-man bands who do sell machines quite successfully, but what happens when the customer is up five flights of stairs and no lift working? I used to be a one man band, and i used to sell machines too but would end up not offering machines to the customers with a nasty installation site…i’d end up wasting half a day and get backache to boot! 😕

From our point of view to keep it cost effective all deliveries are a two man job. This means that the machines are swapped out quickly, and any tricky built-in installations are usually done by one while the other clears off to do more repairs 😀

My hat is firmly off to the guys selling and installing on their own but for me…well, been there done that 😉

Assuming the compressor is running it’s almost certainly a gas leak i’m afraid…costly if not impossible to fix 😕

Might be worthwhile to get an engineer in to confirm diagnosis, find the leak and give you an estimate……

    Re: bosch v454…water pouring out

If the breather is open, the machine leveled, the dispenser spotless and the dispenser hose completely open then the laws of physics dictate the water will run into the tub and not down the front 😉

You seem to know how to use a meter?…in which case get a reading of the dispenser solenoid and gently flex it’s terminals up and down while you do 😉

If the problem isn’t there and there are no earthing faults then it will be the pcb itself i’m afraid…they do have diagnostics built in but when a fault condition is detected the program should abort and give a specific fault code indication which yours apparently isn’t 😕

Re: Homark Gas Hob (02-500241) spares

Being a gas product the only people who can touch it have to be CORGI registered…legal requirement. Furthermore, no-one can legally sell you gas spares without you producing your Gas Council registration number (shows you are qualified and competent)

Your only hope is to find a CORGI registered appliance repairer in your area, unfortunately they can be as rare as rocking horse dung 😕

    Re: bosch v454…water pouring out

That would be the one 😉

Don’t forget to check the port where it fits too…and if it is blocked then you’d be best to strip out the drain vent box and associated hoses as well…i think you might be staggered at the build up. Run a descaler afterwards.

Just search ‘microtemp’…they don’t have a 206 but have a few different temperatures, they may have one close enough 😉

    Re: bosch v454…water pouring out

Depends…if the cold valve is a double then no.

The vent hoses on Bosch’s are a smaller diameter than the fill hoses so it should be obvious if it’s there 😉

    Re: bosch v454…water pouring out

Can’t honestly remember if there’s a vent hose to the back of the dispenser on this one….if there is it will be blocked which means as the tub fills the air cannot escape, and the resulting pressure makes the water pour out at the front. Any vent hose will be a thin one (thickness of a pencil-ish) and run from the back of the dispenser to the vent box on the drain line behind.

You have checked the obvious though?….(machine levelled and not sloping to the front?)
