Sorry to add my ten penneth, but I thought that UKW was the one place we could air greivances and let off a bit of steam with other people who are in our trade. These are forums after all aren’t they?

ParticipantRe: Masterpart
There does seem to be a bit of a ‘lax’ attitude at M’part regarding security. The other day I was trying to pay a bill by card over the phone. No’one was in accounts on two occasions but they would ‘helpfully’ have left my card number and details on the acounts office desk so they could sort it on their return 😯 .
I’ve had problems in the past when I had a business partner, we used his card to settle an outstanding bill, two years later they were about to use the ‘card number they had on file’ to settle another bill….that would have taken some explaining to a now Ex partner.

Wow 😯 , what a rude little person you are.
In my experience of these machines, the replies you have been given should suffice, armed with a little knowledge how things fit together.
Noone is going to give you Airfix model instructions on how to do it, as your ability to work on electrical appliances is unknown.
Anyway plug out first and beware the scuffed knuckles.TC

ParticipantRe: One For the Oldies…
I remember when I was a lad (early 70’s) my dad had made a coal fire lighter out of a length of lorry brake pipe, and a steel tube welded shut at one end and holes drilled in it. Held at tap and rod ends with jubilee clips.
The days before Corgi and safety regs loomed over everything.
It put me off ever working with gas forever.TC

ParticipantRe: I’ve found it!!!!!!!!!
Where do they get these prices, mines at £5.14 and £9.14 SRP. Its the lockwasher (x2 at a reasonable £10.28 plus the dreaded) they use on the rhs nuts holding the heaterbox base on a HPT WD61 (for unConnected bods).
