There’s probably a coin or similar jamming the filter. Try turning it back and forth to see if it will come free.
If not, brute force (possibly breaking the filter) may be the only solution. You can replace them for about £15.

The extra tag is the connection to a TOC on the fan motor windings, it cuts the whole oven off if the motor overheats 🙂

Connect’s ELE3559 shows the three tag version.
The genuine is 6224993, Masterpart’s CR1452 is shown as an alternaive but the picture isn’t too clear.

It’s almost certainly the fan motor, quite a common failure. If you use the search function here:

Then search for 096825 (the motor part number), there are several instances of this fault occuring 🙂

Normally they either go completely dead or the defrost cycle doesn’t work correctly so it sounds like the latter in this case, but as you say, I can’t be certain 😉
I can order the top flap, it’s about £15 inc VAT 😯
