If you’re attempting the repair yourself then it may not be too bad as Hotpoint spares are relatively low priced and easily obtainable.
It sounds like the bearings as far as the noise goes, the not pumping problem is more likely the pump itself as they are prone to intermittent problems like you describe.
Prices as a guide:
Bearing kit and drum support spider £30
Door seal £10
Pump £20
Door Lock £10Most, if not all of those are in the shop on this site.

Sometimes high water pressure can cause this effect, if the valve is recieving pulsed power though, this is not normal.

You will need the full model though beginning APL??? AHY?? or similar.

Geoff, I’ve emailed you the PDF of the whole dishwasher, all the part numbers are Merloni (the Servis version ;))
Let me know if you need any help obtaining as this model is only a couple of years old by the looks of it so they souldn’t be obsolete.

There’s quite a few versions of this model, to help further, please check around the door for the PNC beginning 911????? and could you let us know how the lights are displayed on the control panel, either 6 in a row, left to right or 2 banks of 3.
