    Re: Kelvinator fridge/freezer door shelf

I can’t even find this model listed so it must be an old one.

Try GIAS http://www.gias.co.uk they are the main agent and part of the Hoover/Candy group who own the Kelvinator name in the UK.

Be prepared to be told the parts are obsolete though (I suspect anyway).

Re: Diplomat ADP8242 Dishwasher fault code

There is no such fault code as that one 😕

Which means one of two things, either the control PCB is faulty or there’s another component that is causing a software error in the PCB.

Engineer time on this one Allen.

Have a look in the directories or repairs@ for an engineer, or even pop our postcode up here.

    Re: Technical/Spares Information

Copyright is the main problem, but it can be bought at a price, which will be a large one I would think.

I would imagine by now some, if not all of the manufacturers will have noticed that we share most of the info here anyway, so.. they will be losing sales on cd’s, dvd’s and manuals.

I’m quite happy to email “brian” or we could ask him at the meeting if he turns up, Merloni being by far the largest and most expensive disk, which has no tech info on it anyway.

TDS is readily available to anyone at £20 + VAT a throw so that’s no issue really, and it has all the tech stuff on it.

SIOS is relatively cheap as well, which also has wiring diagrams as well as spares but no bulletins (they have a website for that, Service Partners only).

GIAS also have a website with all the tech info on it now, readily available free of charge to all account holders.

So, with Lux, Whirlpool, GIAS and Merloni, which others would be of use ?

Add this to the Friday meeting Agenda as some will be there ?

    Re: Where’s Richard.

Yep, he’s been out on the road this week and last.

I’ve had a couple of communications with him this week via email and he seems fine, although he hasn’t replied to my meeting invite yet 😕

I don’t know who you have accounts with m but the cheapest option is Penguin’s suggestion of Maddocks.

    Alternatives are:

    Connect – ELE5218
    Qualtex – ELE2019

    Re: LG Dishwasher Error 1

If it’s E1 in the display it means that ” the water level in the cavity is dropping” according to LG’s website.

We’ve had a few of these, it basically indicates a leak, when you get there it won’t be leaking I doubt. What happens is the two solenoids that control the flow of water between the upper and lower baskets both stay shut causing no water circulation so the heater protection pressure switch never activates, hence the machine thinks it’s empty.

PCB Fault normally, and they’re over £100 I think.

There’s a product recall on these I believe, if you get stuck on it, refer the customer to LG customer services 😉

    Re: AEG SANTO Fridge Freezer

Was this the original fault ?

If it was it may be a case of insulation problems and the tube that the capillary slides down has become seperated from the evaporator.

Impossible to tell as you can’t see it, either that or the stat could be faulty.

Re: Candy Oven F241 Fan noise.

It sounds as if you may have bent the fan backwards slightly when fitting the element.

Try pulling them all forward slightly, that normally works 😉
