Re: Diplomat ADP 3101 Cooker outer glass for the oven door

It’s a bit expensive that one unfortunately £79.48 inc VAT plus £7.50 total postage.

If you need one ordered and/or posted, let me know by email and I’ll sort for you.

Saved Ken looking it up 😉

Along the same lines, news on our customer with the gas cooker.

Merloni will not allow us to repair it unless:

1/ we pay for the spares

2/ we carry out the work free of charge

We are also informed that this will also void the customers guarantee.

Merloni are bringing an engineer of their own down from Shrewsbury on July 12. That’s a 400 mile round trip and our customer will have waited nearly 7 weeks for the repair to be done.

So, Mr Merloni you can wave bye bye to a £60k pa account as of RIGHT NOW

This is totally beyond belief, what kind of service are you actually attempting to achieve ? The worst possible in the shortest time scale ?

Looks like you’ve already won 👿

    You will have to 😥

    See above 😉

rob marshall wrote:Do you mean Zanussi are the worse for drum bearing replacements, how do you mean? Is it having to dismantle vertually everything to get to the blasted things??

Just this range really, the older one’s were ok, spilt drum in the middle means having to dismantle virtually everything, yes.

Please ensure for your safety that the appliance is unplugged and beware of some very sharp edges.

For legal reasons we can’t really give much more info than that, just be prepared for a very long tiresome job.

    Re: Whirlpool Dishwasher 6 flashes

    Thanks John.

It does actually fill and the circ pump fires up ok, also no leaks, so I would suspect the ntc as I know these have a high failure rate even hough it doesn’t correspond to the relevent fault code for that 😕

It turned out to be a CDA brand in the end, free parts for five years, can’t be bad. I’ve ordered an ntc and a main pcb, CDA are quite happy to supply both for a quick solution.

    Thanks again.

    Re: Zanussi drum bearings

It depends what you regard as hard.

Generally these are considered one of the worst appliances ever made to change the bearings on, mainly due to the time factor involved.

If time is not a factor then it isn’t too bad really, unless the bearings have broken up, then it can be a nightmare.

No real way of telling this though unless the machine is stripped down.

    Re: Virus/Adware

Yeah I had one at home recently which took me two weks to get rid of, in the end Adware 6 came to the rescue, but I had to update the reference file 1st.

Kev, just above the “Start” button is a “check for updates now” link, it may work after installing the new reference file. You may have already done it, but I can’t think of anything else at the moment.

A sad inditement of the quality and price level of some of the appliances out there 😥

streetlighter wrote:O well didn’t whant a new van anyway 😥

TBH, with the above problems, we really ought to be charging the same rate for write-offs as fully repaired appliances, I know most don’t or offer a lower rate, but why ? It takes the same time/effort etc IMO 😕
