I’m not sure if I will be “allowed” to go to the AGM though, not being an NESN member anymore.

TBH with the UKW meeting the following week, I can’t take the time away from the office anyway, and I know which is more important to me.

Grooster, you could try HJM Scientific. They don’t have the wide range of modules that QER do, but they do timer recon’s as well, which prove pretty reliable generally.

I put LG on stop yesterday for unpaid invoices totalling close to 6K dating back to September 2003.

Not all of these are overdue of course, that is the total amount owed, but when I phoned them on Tuesday of this week to chase on the 2.5K owing from September/October I was told “Oh we have a cheque here for you for Β£297.00” 😯

I told them to add another zero and come back to me when the cheque had been raised, till then no work will be carried out.

Re: Another Indesit timer clicking round

We’ve just had one of these today (Ariston A1234UK version), a return visit from one that had a power cut mid cycle, customer complaint “timer rotating constantly” πŸ˜₯ .

Engineer attended, and I pre-warned him to double check every other component in the appliance before condemning the pcb. Everything checks out OK, replaced the pcb, still the same. I’ve told the customer to get in touch with her electricity supplier now.

I am seriously considering refusing to attend any of these Merloni piles of sh1te, refer them all to the manfacturer.

Please consumer, don’t be taken in by the “bargain” price tag. Not such a bargain when you’re Β£200 only lasts 18 months is it ?

It’s almost certainly the same as the Teba branded A02004GB01 but it may be worth measuring the area the glass slides in to, just to be sure.

I’m sure Richard won’t mind asking his spares dept to check one in their warehouse. πŸ˜‰

    Re: Hot News About Indesit

A rather amusing story in the Scotsman today:

Italian villagers call for exorcist to end ‘demon’ fires

    JEREMY CHARLES IN ROME

AN ITALIAN village was evacuated yesterday as investigators attempted to explain an outbreak of spontaneous household appliance combustions, which have left locals fearing for their safety.

Fridges, cookers, televisions, washing machines, mobile telephones and furniture have burst into flame for no apparent reason at a dozen houses in the Sicilian village of Canneto di Caronia near Messina.

Authorities initially suspected the fires were caused by overhead cables on a nearby railway line, but the outbreaks continued even after the village’s electricity supply was cut off, leading some locals to blame supernatural forces.

Pedro Spinnato, the village mayor, has ordered the evacuation so further investigations can be carried out.

“This has been going on for three weeks now and there is no explanation for it. We cannot risk a tragedy through these fires, so I have no other option but to evacuate the village,” said Mr Spinnato.

“We have had electrical engineers in to examine cables and wires but they can find no explanation. It is not just electrical items, furniture is also catching fire for no reason.

“Already people are blaming the events on evil spirits and I am being asked to get the local priest to perform an exorcism.”

The civil protection chief, Tullio Martella, said: “For the time being there is no scientific explanation for it and I have never heard of anything like this happening before in Italy. The fires continued even when we cut power to the village to see if that was a possible cause.”

Last night more than 100 engineers were in the village and geologists were also due to carry out underground surveys.

Nino Pezzino, 42, one of 39 villagers evacuated yesterday, said: “Twelve of our houses are uninhabitable. Fortunately, for the time being, the only damage has been to houses and no-one has been hurt, but you can sense the growing fear.

“How can anyone live in a house where any minute something can catch fire for no apparent reason?”

Father Gabriel Amorth, the Vatican’s chief expert on exorcisms, said: “With cases of demon behaviour it is normal for domestic appliances to be involved and for demons make their presence known via electricity.”

Yes, now I remember who Gunkol are 😳 it is almost certainly the model Richard has suggested, but will need to be confirmed to ensure the correct parts are supplied.

we are trying to locate a transformer for one, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Nope, never heard of that one, if it’s got a transformer it’s probably an American unit I assume, in which case it maybe a Maytag or Electrolux made unit. Any id on the transformer or model of the unit ?

I had one of these this morning as well, from a Rochdale address. After checking the link Albert kindly supplied it is indeed a bogus one.

There is a list of known and suspected and bogus agencies here :

I will forward mine directly to the local Trading Standards office as suggested by Rudi.
