ParticipantI have just spoken to their accounts department asking when the 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} balance will be transfered, they can’t tell me, they are working on it is the only answer I can get, no time no ammount.
Suffice to say they will be on stop as of Monday morning.
Yes you’re right it does break the terms of the contract IMO.

ParticipantRe: Dasa number or otherwise.
I agree, as I and others have said before, smaller areas, with a higher volume are far more profitable than a huge area, running around like blue a*se flies for next to nothing. Those of us in semi-rural ares have to put up with the odd nightmare distant call, it goes with the territory, but as I’ve experimented with larger areas over the last five years and done the math, it don’t pay, in fact with the extra admin, fuel, wear and tear on vehicles etc etc, I don’t need to spell it out I’m sure.
TBH, this thread and notion is the ONLY way forward, not just for us though, we have to make the manufacturers and insurers (bollocks to the wp’s) realise that by working with them and not for them, (big difference) there are huge advantages for both parties:
1/ They get a faster, more personal and efficient back up for the products they sell (ATEOTD sales will always be the dominating factor).
2/ The customer has less people to deal with. (How many times do you get that call from a customer not knowing WTF they’re dealing with ?)
3/ We get paid more for the good service we offer by cutting out the feckin’ ridiculous managament fees (On that I checked the new so called CHW increase in work from nesn earlier, they are taking £10 a call 😯 FFS)
4/ We have the oppurtunity of gaining some decent chargeable work when the extended warranty or guarantee runs out as we will be directly contactable.
I hope this all makes sense, what being Saturday night and all, a couple of beers have passed my lips 😕
Dave 8) bloody hot aint it ?

ParticipantAlex wrote:Is this AEG made for the British market, or a foreigner. In keeping with most AEG, seals are not listed, try looking for motor brushes.
I 😉 f this is for a “counter sale”, then the spider is the answer and you will make a better rprofit. Otherwise the customer is likely to make a pigs ear of the bearing when hammering it in and expect a free one in 9 months time. We usually ask if he’s hot a fly press to install the bearing, the look on their faces says a lot.
Probably a foreigner as it’s not on the TDS disk, only on procorner, I’ve told him the situation, and waiting for an answer. Which I doubt I’ll get, he will probably got to Comet and buy a new machine, with not a word of thanks for my efforts. 🙁

ParticipantAlex wrote:Mr. Kerr may be right, I’ve heard things from a sales rep from a rival company to Electrue, in a very similar vein. They are probably hoping it will all end in tears.
It would seem the rival company are using their reps as propoganda tools as I heard exactly the same thing as Alex and Juan. It wasn’t prompted either I might add.

In the past I have been able to remove and swap the cam part over and just use the new contact part of it, so if you let me have your address I’ll send you one, if it works, buy me a pint at the meeting, if not bin it, I’ve got too many and will never use them anyway.

Participantjohnmac11 wrote:Another pause for thought on this deal is this.
you go to an appliance and have to order parts, the part is backorder, a week later GBDAR/RETRA write the appliance off because the customer is screaming. You then receive the part that you cannot return and you will never use again. Your stuck with it!
I posed this question to GBDAR and was told that it would never happen but they would not commit to paying for the part in this situation.
I have told them I will not be doing any of this work till this is sorted.
JohnThere is a way round this, if the part is a ‘special’ or backordered, fax a report to GBdar stating this and ask for an authority number and a name to procedeed with the repair, they can’t get out of it then, if they refuse, close the job down and invoice at the normal rate.
I know it’s extra admin/time etc, and why should you have to, but *untill* these wp’s change their tune, it’s one alternative.

Fucking right it aint good, bastards, once that prick Shaun returns my calls after three messages left for him, they can get fucked. They promise to pay 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} coverplan though, we’ll see. 😡Dave.

goosegreen wrote:I had the same problem last year, But in the end it had to be a compleat spider. I tried to talk the custome out of it, but he insisted and bought the part himself. Cost about £75
At least i got to fit it
Thanks ‘goosegreen’
They want about £80 now trade price, the only trouble is, we’re not even fitting it, just trying to supply the bearing kit 😥
And as the machine’s about 15 years old, I don’t think he’ll go for it TBH.
I’ll try bearing services as Bryan suggested, or better still send the customer there himself.

BRYAN 💡
That was my next port of call Bryan, the annoying thing is I know this seal is available as I’ve ordered them in the past.
While we’re on that, has anyone else ever tried to source bearings directly from specialist bearing suppliers, no matter how hard they try, there’s no way they can match the price we in the trade pay by buying the the kits, either pattern or genuine. 😕
