ParticipantRe: How to access stacked t/dryers
I can normally manage on my own to get the dryers down. but had a hotpoint wma once stacked on top of tumble dryer 👿 had to order some spares, I wouldn’t have wanted to be near that one if it spun out of balance.

ParticipantRe: hotpoint ff72s
have a check of the condenser fan, check if its says ‘thermal protected’ on the back of the fan motor as these are all ways playing up in the summer months and giving temp problems

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint FFM90A

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint / Creda tumble dryers not heating
if i come across a hpt or creda condenser dryer that the one shot has tripped within the first couple of uses, i replace the front stat(exhaust) which normally sorts the problem. Ive also found some of the later ones with dicky timers, when they come out of reverse the motor stops dead with heater on.

ParticipantRe: employment with merloni
They are currently trying to entice employed engineers to take up franchise, something i was considering, but reading these comments it sounds like i be shooting myself in the foot if i took it up 🙁

ParticipantRe: Shoes Off please
I had a few calls to temples and they dojnt let me in unless i leave my shoes at the door. Normally i would refuse to remove my shoes, but its abit awkward when dealing with other peoples religion, just wondering if any of you have had calls to temples and how you deal with them.

ParticipantRe: liquitabs detergent
some detergents do foam more than others, especially on the hotter washes. For my sins i have a hotpoint wma and my wife has used fairy on a hot wash and the drum is full to the top with foam. It even had me pacing the kitchen floor with worry 😆

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint BD52 Built-in double oven
I have one of these and have had no problem, I know i might be stating the obvious – but you tried removing the glass and giving both sides a good clean

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint RLA 80 Larder Fridge
Check to make sure the door is sealing properly and has not dropped, try to cover any liquids, also make sure the fridge temp is not too low to prevent excessive condensation on the rear wall of the fridge. Check the tray to make sure is level or not distorted

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Dishwasher Model DWF50
65 degree led flashing on its own doesn’t represent a fault code,65 + 40 flashing is a software error, some of the heaters were failing on the early ones and throw up all weird and wonderful faults – so worth a check.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint Mistral Frost Free Fridge Freezer
check both fridge and freezer door seals to make sure they are not split and are sealing ok. May be a faulty defrost heater, thermistors or fan, the thermistor do fail quite ofter on this range, which can cause icing problems but normally noticable by a warm fridge first or displaying an error. If the door seals are o.k i would suggest you get a engineer to have a look.

ParticipantRe: WMA30.
the pressure switches are slow to activate if you blow in them asd they have a restrictor built in them, sounds like it may be a blockage in the pressure chambre. if its a early machine with plastic pressure chamber/sump and rubber sump hose, if the hose is put on in the wrong position a air lock can occur and will not drain or spin properly. If this is the case, you need to adjust the hose (looking from the back, twist the sump hose clockwise 30-40 degrees where it connects to the plastic sump assembly to give it a more flowing appearance)hotpoint changed it to the all rubber assembly to resolve this problem.

ParticipantRe: Door reversal Hpt’ CTD00
due to the high quality bulid of merloni products 😉 i’ve seen a few of these now, it would appear that some have the hole pre-drilled on both sides, and some only have them on 1 side
