if yours says ont he front super silent it is a 3 phase motor so not brushes
if it does not say this then its likely a brushed motor and the brushes have worn
brushes are easy to check and replace and not expensive
it wont be a wire
as stated beforee electric appliance making sparking noises then stop using it till it has been repairedDDSDDS

tried it again on other cycles and it goes through ok wash motor runs fine

since posting i have tried it again on the quick wash and it went through but on the normal wash it seems to develop the fault

it is a fault with the main pcb

heater is fine there is a low resistance on the machine but its not from the motor or heater it seems a bit rusty think its damp and needs drying
as for the error do you know what it says is it heater relay stuck? something like that?DDSDDS

no i have just got the lights and was looking for a hint before i started stripping down and messing with it blindly

just done same today halfway through 3 flashes funnily enough though i got an intermittant 16 flash did not got earth leak on heater till it was warm….also found that i had an earth leakage on the front displap board i could actually put my test meter on and get an audible beep on continuity test cleaned excess carbon dust off and fitted new heater going like a good one now

Could be a few things
you could have put the belt back on wrong or incorrectly fitted the pulley or maybe the capacitor that starts the motor is duff
can you take a picture of the work you have done and list it on here -
