Hi
Ariston has not been in the UK for quite a few years now. The market is awash with budget machines which don’t last too long. Miele are still the best if these are out then Bosch and Siemens. At the budget end Beko seem to do okay.

Hi
You will not be able to fit integrated hinges to a freestanding appliance without a lot of work . If you did manage to overcome this it would also invalidate your guarantee as well.
In the olden days you were able to get decor panels which were a couple of mm thick and were attached to a frame which screwed to the door edges. A good kitchen supplier may be able to come up with something like that. However the guarantee could still be an issue.
Another thought would be to go for a stainless steel appliance while not integrated would give the kitchen a commercial look.

Hi
That link takes you to a discontinued product presumably as the description of colour does not match the image. The new link for that is this one which has been corrected but with the same imagery.
On the Hotpoint website which is always the first choice of reference the four colours are here show a complete set of different images. Now this is where it gets a little tricky for retailers, if the manufacturer changes the specification or images they do not have to tell anyone. From the literature I have in store;
” Hotpoint reserve the right to alter specifications. To confirm that the specification and / or functions required are still current on the selected model, please call our product information team on 03448 111009″.
Also to confirm that I have three colour variants of that machine in stock on the shop floor and none have the switch in question on them.
So, yes the spec has been changed, no the retailer has probably not been made aware of the change which is why the images are the same, the new images and spec by Hotpoint make no reference to the switch.
If you feel this is something you can’t live with then you need to contact Boots in the first instance.
HTH 🙂

Thanks
There is no model number like that anywhere on Whirlpool or Connect. Is there a nice next door neighbour who may be able to help?

ModeratorRe: Siemens Microwave E1 or E2
The guy I spoke to at BSH said they had had a few of late so knew straight away.
The machine being just over eight years old having had a hard life and not been cleaned very often the rust appeared and then the holes by the looks of it.

To wrap another one up 🙂
Having spoken to BSH tech the answer is small holes in the cavity ( which in this case were along the top leading edge) causing the microwave radiation to leak and bounce around corrupting the PCB’s.
Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Hi
Look along the bottom slots carefully with a torch, about halfway along you will hopefully find an allen screw to remove, once removed you will need to tug the microwave forward in order to remove it from the rear mounting bracket.
Hope this sorts it for you.
