    Re: matsui 170tc microwave oven

    Hi

Sounds like the turntable motor is failing. Spares for that machine are now obsolete even Google does not really help.

A local microwave repair agent may be able to find something close that may do the job.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi

Articles 8 onwards in our cleaning maintenance section here We perform a maintenance wash article no.13 every week and when the machine is not in use the soap drawer and the main door are left slightly open.

Having done this for eight years on our Bosch the door seal is like new as is the soap box area and no nasty niffs from the machine either.

    Hi

In that case they are 12v 20w G4 halogen capsules as in the attached. Like all halogen bulbs make sure you do not touch the glass with your fingers when fitting them.

    Hi

The only way to be sure is to remove the old Hotpoint machine which easy to do and have a measure.

Bear in mind that when fitting the new Bosch machine you will need to fill the old hinge holes and recore the new hinges onto the timber door.

    Hi

John Lewis here have more than 10 in stock and they have it on both offers.

If you can afford to go the extra mile with the WDA210 then do it just for the peace of mind alone it’s well worth it.

The first Siemens is a good all round buy esp with the 5 year warranty.

The Bosch is silver, Bosch usually only come with a two year warranty, worth checking this out before you decide.

The Miele will last longer than the others, the five year warranty is okay but you will need to be prepared for higher price of parts later and being Miele they rarely share service info with the independent sector.

The last of the Siemens as above.

If it were me I would go with one of the Siemens 😀

Re: Miele WDA110 with 5yr guarantee – Good idea or not?

    Hi

While it’s true that the build quality has lessened over all brands in the last few years the Miele machines are by far still the best out there.

While the quality has lessened so has the price as a few years ago Miele machines started at the £749 mark.

Miele currently have on promotion the WDA110 which is being supplied with a 5 year warranty and a Miele cashback. John Lewis among others have it on offer currently for £649.00 but then there is the £75 cashback. Both offers are explained here

The 5 year warranty on that sort of price machine will not be bettered. If I were buying a new washer now I would get a Miele.

    Hi

If it’s a six sided like the attached then it’s a Torx screw. You can buy these sets at most good DIY centres. A handy set to have in your tool box as more and more products are fitted with these nowadays.

Sometimes a flat blade will move them but it is a risk as you may cause damage.
