I’m hoping user Martin or one of the other Bosch tekkies see this and can respond.

The upstands are designed for cups on top, for mugs you could lower the basket. They can also be used for long utensils.
The knife rack was stopped on that range some time ago probably to keep within a price point, if you require this part you need to go to the next range up. If the basket kit is the same as your’s you could use your’e existing rack 😉

hbrac wrote:They maintain that the design of the bottom rack
with large gaps means stuff falls through onto the rotor arms.

The bottom basket is no different to any other, bottom basket is for large items, top basket spacing is narrower for small pieces.

hbrac wrote: Might just get the water heater replaced again. How long should that part last?

How long is a piece of string 😉

If it’s fitted by an engineer it will have a guarantee, how long depends on who fits it.

    HTH 😀

    Hi

That was back in March :rolls: fast forward to the 27th November and the latest info is……………….

I have the current definitive answer 😀 The WAQ is the only range to have the sealed drums. WAE,WAS and WAY all have split tubs.

I have a Bosch and would have another as well, a fair few of the family members also have Bosch machines some of which do have the sealed drums with no problem at all.

    Re: Miele 435 any good?

    Hi

Miele washing machines are well renowned for being a quality made appliance which have a long life span, I have known some reaching twenty years.

The only real down sides are service is limited to Miele service agents and spares are costly.

There are three different versions of that model going back to 1973 if you can identify the one in question from this list it would give you the approximate age.

    W435 02/1973 08/1982
    W435S 09/2001 03/2003
    W435-E 08/2002 12/2005

Your’e budget of £350 ish would get you to the Bosch Classixx range, good machines with a two year warranty.

    HTH 🙂

    Hi Franz

Nothing listed on Connect or Hoover Candy trade spares website. The only thing I can suggest is a phone call to Hoover spares on 08443 712 758.

    Apologies I cannot help further.

Okay what I would do is take some photos and measurements of the timber doors and the appliance ones as well into my local independent retailer who should be able to help you sort a replacement.

    Hi

before you go dashing off to the retailer take a while to read these articles Fit for purpose then this on appliance satisfactory quality. These and others can be found here

As you will have probably read it is a minefield and yes some of the areas are a little grey but they will give you a very good insight.

    Good luck with the retailer.

    Hi

Without going mad on price I would take a look at the Gorenje RKI4181AWV 50;50 split comes with a full 5 year warranty as standard.

£85 for delivery and install is about right, I would still seek out an independent though 😉
