ModeratorRe: New Appliance advice- What do you think of these?
Hi Ian
Next best thing to the Neff range is AEG, take a look at the AEG31004M oven, 21602GM gas hob and the F85480VI slimline dishwasher. One year warranty on all products again with a a good nationwide service back up.
A cheaper way would be to go for a built in oven as opposed to built under, you will always get a better deal as there are many more sold generally.
If it were me I would still see if I could stretch that little extra for the Neff range.

Hi roe
There is a service agent I have found here who may know where you could purchase a direct replacement. If not, if you can post back some sizes and styles etc or even a picture of the existing hood I should be able to help.

Hi Phidom
I just looked at two different versions of that cooker and both pictures are showing as electric cookers as are the parts listings as well . Top group picture shows the solid plates and bottom group piccy shows the fan oven element amongst other parts. Unless it has been updated since your last visit of course 😉

Hi Ian
The Smeg appliances do look good but the build quality isn`t that good IMO. There are better manufacturers out there producing good solid appliances for about the same price that will last longer, have better guarantees and look just as good.
For example take a look at the Neff U1722N0GB and match it up with the T2124N1EU. As for the dishwasher the S5943X2 is a good quiet machine and energy efficient.
The Bosch fridge freezer is a good choice (comes from the same stable as Neff 😉 ) All Bosh and Neff products carry a full 2 year warranty backed up by nationwide service should it be required.
As for the hood yes you could have a chimney style, as you say a little work is required to think it through. Our chimney hood vents horizontally no problem, with the hose running along the top rear of the eye level cupboards to the outside vent flaps.
As for Biasco they went bust a little while ago, they have since been taken over by RTD another online retailer. There is a news article here which appeared on the homepage about it a little while ago. While they may be okay now, if it were me I would be a little wary 😉

If the dishwasher is from the same stable as the ISE10 washing machine, it will be one superb dishwasher. I used to sell loads of these when I was at Homeworld, many moons ago 😀 .

Thinking about it from the other way Ken, I`d think the insurers would look to see why they should not pay out 😮 . I bet they will be telling customers to phone Samsung direct for the freebie repair :rolls: .

as they’re the ones that didn’t buy a proper US fridge freezer in the first place. 😉K.
This was a family discussion we had last night after the programme when I said ” that Samsung were just a budget copy of the original machines bought into the UK by the likes of Whirlpool and Maytag the true manufacturers of the American fridge freezer”
Okay, so I get set upon by the baying hounds 😆 with all the usual comments like it should still last longer than a year before going wrong, they should be of merchantable quality and if I were them I would be going to trading standards etc etc.
Whoa hold on a minute says I, “these copies of the originals which are built to a much higher standard with prices starting at about a grand are much better built and are more reliable than the Korean copies like Samsung etc”. The old nugget getting what you pay for still applies even in this day and age you know.
Now I know that £600 odd pound is a lot of money to be spending on an appliance and naturally we think that by spending that amount we expect that it will give us many years of trouble free service. But the truth is Whirlpool and Maytag have got it right by not corner cutting in design and manufacturing which in turn improves reliability. Yes I know it costs about a grand, but it will last longer and it will turn up at the recyling centre long after one of the “copies”. Therefore giving better value for money in the longer term.
The family decided in the end that by paying just that little bit more you would get a higher level of enjoyment, peace of mind and value for money.
Common sense prevails 😀

ModeratorRe: Built in dishwasher for £300 suggestions please
Hi goooba
Neff produce cracking built in appliances IMO, all products carry a full two year warranty and backed up by good service should it ever be needed.
I`m assuming this is a 12 place machine you are looking for ❓
If it`s semi integrated you are wanting ( where you see the control panel when the door is shut) then I would say the S44E43 add a W,S,B or N for white, black, brown or stainless steel fascia.
If it`s fully integrated whereby the door is full length ( controls are on the top leading edge of the machine door when opened ) then the S54E53X1GB is the baby to go for.

HI Chrisdon
If the tube is turning black towards each end it will definately be faulty. We still sell loads of these tubes for the older cooker, must be something to do with the older customer we have in our neck of the woods lol.
