If you select the search option at the top of the page and type in PAT into the top line, there is loads of reading to be had 8)

    Re: John Lewis JLDWS1204 opinions…

    Hi

There is nothing to choose between the two as far as tech spec is concerned, as far as the build is concerned I know a fair bit of the JL products are sourced through the Electrolux group of companies, however I do not know if this is one of them. On the other hand we know that Siemens is a trusted high quality German brand and with the 5 year warranty it`s not to be sniffed at.

So it comes down to the overall appearance and as you say the JL has much smarter lines with no controls showing. I must admit it does look good.

All things considered I would probably go with the JL machine and extend the warranty to 5 years for complete peace of mind.

Will the ISE range be increasing in price due to the Euro? Or have you a contract price for a set time?

kwatt wrote:So here’s the ironic bit of all this…

This being the case why have some stupid, stupid prices been advertised?

I’d have to say that the only time you start chopping prices the way I’ve seen a few, like a Samsung washer trading at £110+VAT, is that they are desperate to clear stocks or they desperately need cash. In any event, whatever the reason, all it does in my eyes is to make the brand look cheap and get locked into that pricing level.

What do I know about marketing though? :rolls:

    K.

Judging by the supplier phone calls I have had this week and special offer flyers, yes prices are getting silly and yes I agree with you K that everyone is gearing up for a quiet few months ahead which is why a clear the decks and realise some cash flow exercise is going on. One major distributor has even started chopping manufacturers off it`s portfolio.

What worries me is that when trade does get tough the suppliers will probably be reducing prices even further to realise some cash flow. The poor old retailers won`t want stock if sales are slow.

I think an interest rate cut in February may help a little even if it`s only a quarter of one percent.

    Only time will tell :rolls:

    Re: Slim Washer/Dryer

    Hi Andy

Nothing what so ever I`m afraid in a washer dryer.

Zanussi still produce the ZWC1300W which is a compact washing machine measuring 495 wide, 670 high and 515 deep which has a 3kg load, but it isn`t cheap. The only other option I can think of would be a slimline top loader like the Hotpoint WT400 but then you lose a bit of the worktop space.

    Hi

Hotpoint is better than some of the other stuff out there. However the Bosch quality, warranty and service is superior.

Just thought you might like a choice of more than one 😉

Finger trouble on keypad, post should read S75408KG8 sorry about that.

I can confirm that AEG have now discontinued the S75408KG.

    LFW

😳 :rolls: me age you know lol.

Hotpoint have Graphite and Aluminium finishes available and Bosch have silver available which is very similar to Aluminium.

Better if you can have a seperate washer and dryer if space allows.

Good article about them here .

    Hi teresa

The differences are so negligible that I would go with the SGV46M3 😉

A comparison on the Bosch site may help. The missing icon is the noise level, 49db on the 46 and 52db on the 55M03 very little difference IMO.

    Hi LFW

    Good choice

Down to personal preferance really 😉 If the cooker is on the opposite side of the kitchen to the other two then yes it will probably look okay IMO.

No point in replacing them just for the sake of it.
