ModeratorOr change the Candy for a Beko fridge freezer as they are good to go in a garage or shed down to -15 degrees C or so they say 😉

Your Hotpoint has a five year parts guarantee, you pay their labour about £110 IIRC and they would have left you with a fully working machine by throwing all the parts required at it.

ModeratorBettyJo wrote:Hello, can anyone help me, I am looking at a 50cm freestanding gas cooker with a grill fit for purpose, because the one we own takes about 12 minutes to toast two slices of bread adding any more is just pointless becasue the actual grill only covers 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the cookers internal width and within that area only provides about 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} flame coverage.
You’ll be lucky, for starters there are very few gas cookers made and soon there won’t be any at all.
in 50cm there is purely the budget end models like Beko, Indesit and Statesmen etc. Even in 60cm there really is only Hotpoint, Smeg and Zanussi the number of model choices is fast dwindling even with those three.
I’m off now to look at your washing machine reply.

ModeratorSpec says it’s 62cm deep i guess it just depends on the foot positions on the washing machine.

ModeratorStacking of appliances isn’t as popular as it once was. That stack kit is the best by a mile of the few that are available.
The only other way I have seen is to add a strong shelf for the tumble dryer and cut two small strips of metal four inches long and an inch wide drill a hole at each end, carefully fix one end to the rear of the dryer and the other end into the wall this will then stop the user from pulling the dryer on top of them.

ModeratorNo it’s purely bells and whistles. Personally I would not be looking at the TDOS either, I’m probably to old fashioned and I would rather be in control 😉
You have to weigh up the ten year warranty against the five if you want the increased gizmo’s.

ModeratorMiele washing machine models can be found on their site https://www.miele.co.uk/e/washing-machines-1015696-c
No other brand comes close in the current quality of build etc.

ModeratorThere is a raft of good info here to keep anyone awake into the early hours of the morning.
Miele with a five year guarantee is sufficient for most households.
You need to research the Miele models and then research some more.

ModeratorI doubt very much anyone will have any info as they haven’t been around for a very long time. I doubt anyone will have one but you never know. Arrow info here doesn’t give much hope either.

Same for us, we just phone them have a whinge, mention ASWO and hey presto delivery charge credited. When you ask why it happens on a regular basis they have no answer.

ModeratorMains leads these days are a set length, cutting plug off to extend can sometimes void the guarantee. Installing an extra socket nearer the dishwasher would have been the answer.
The part you refer to is it this with the mains lead attached? If so send an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you wish us to order.
