    Hi Lady Jane

Right then if it`s built under then it is only Neff that do both hob and oven . Miele only produce double built in ovens which are taller than the built under machines. So if you want to achieve a nice “look” then nab a Neff oven and hob. Double built under oven two to choose from U1722 or the U1744. For most cooks the 1722 offers fan cooking, top and bottom element heat, full and centre only grill options, defrost and aquacleanse cleaning. In addition the 1744 has bread baking, dough proving, circo roasting for which alternates grill element and fan which can reduce cooking time and rapid heat.

On the hobs either the T4243 frameless hob or the T4344 framed in 60cm. For the larger sizes there is the T4383 80cm and the T4593 90cm.
Some of these come with the removale magnetic control which gives a nice uncluttered look.

I must admit I had not heard this one before, but Google helped me out 😉 . I too live in the Boonies, will have to try that one on my wife later 😆

Anyway back to topic if you can afford the Miele products then they are about the best there is, service should it be required is excellent and they come with a two year guarantee too. more info here at Miele website. Next best without a doubt IMO would be the Neff range again have a two year guarantee. The range is much larger as all they produce is built in appliances 😉

What hob size are you after ie 60cm wide or larger? What type of built under oven ie would you like multi function?

    Re: WEEE & Recycling

    Its started :rolls:

From Bosch and Neff built in appliances today have announced price increases as from April the 1st.

The new prices reflects additional costs in relation to the introduction of the WEE regulations and our responsibility, as a producer , for historic waste.

Notification from Indesit Company too. As of April 1st all Hotpoint and Indesit branded refrigeration will increase as a result of the producers responsibility for WEE under the hazardous waste regs.

Price increases vary on the box type but a tenner at cost is about average. Then later in the letter

The impact of the WEE regulation for the other product categories becomes applicable from July 1st, at this stage we are optimistic that for drying, washing and cooking products we will be able to balance the cost of recycling with the recovered value of scrap

Brilliant if it works out that way.

Cool my wife had a slight accident with a bollard the other day in a local car park which resulted in a smallish dent to the passenger door. I am sure it was on a windy day hmmmmm.

Anyway don`t the supermarkets have the usual parking disclaimer. “Cars are parked here at the owners risk”.

    Hi

With that sort of budget I would look at the Miele W520 German built, very hard wearing, looks good, easy to use and will last years . Take a look at the link here http://www.miele.co.uk/products/Features.aspx?pid=102 looks like it is coming with a five year warranty at the moment.

Also take a look at the ISE washing machine which has been developed by UK whitegoods this also comes with a five year guarantee, is backed up with “local service” and the price is right too. More info here http://www.iseappliances.co.uk/

Before you all shout “Doh!” by that I mean, I’m considering going for the Bosch WAE 32464 but some retailers quote the model number, as is, and others with UK at the end.
    Thanks ever so in advance.

If you order a WAE32464 you will indeed recieve a WAE32464UK 😉 . As far as country of origin is concerned they could be German built or built under license in another country using Bosch tech and quality controls.

Looks nice with the hidden top mount controls, very energy efficient but do you need all the whistles and bells? I have always found our basic Bosch which dries by residual heat to be fine. However others may disagree 😉

I know there not going to give the kind of reliability a Bosh dishwasher and Admiral/ Whirlpool F/F would. The good news is she likes the Bosch WAE 28162 washing machine as it has the express wash system.

You can have a Bosch and a good one at that for the kind of money you are looking at spending. The SGS46E12 has all and more than the Whirlpool. Comes with two years on the warranty too.

    Hi

Washing machine yes. Bosch WLX24162GB 45cm deep. Full spec here . Tumble dryer now that`s a little more tricky, I can find vented if that`s what you are after with the White Knight range which are only53cm deep.
