Sadly we are not able to advise on gas repairs. You will need a Gas Safe registered engineer to take a look. Link here explains the reasons why. There is a directory on the Gas Safe website to search for an engineer near to you.

If the fan is still running and there is no heat then it’s more than likely to be the fan oven element which is situated at the rear of the cavity. If you are going in then don’t forget to isolate the power first.

Not a very popular appliance so very little choice. White Knight WK43AW vented and the C8317WV vented sensor dryer are not bad units and the spares are always reasonably priced. Montpellier MTD175 again a vented dryer but with a two year guarantee. From experience the service and parts can be a little slow at times.
Then at the premium end there is the Miele T4819CI and it’s stainless steel partner the T4859CISS which are both condenser dryers. Miele are the best in the domestic arena with a price tag to match and Miele service is usually only carried out by their own service agents and spares can be more expensive than other brands.

According to the explosion there is a plug on each side towards the front of the lid, the fixing is behind this.

We wouldn’t carry out a repair like that as with the labour charge a new set of rods would be a similar price. If you don’t really need the adjustable rods then simply replace them with the standard push fit static ones. If you give us the model number S??? we will be able to give you the correct diameter size.

While I agree with Ken in principle I think you have nothing to lose in contacting Siemens again. You may not get anywhere but if you don’t ask you don’t get. If you were that unhappy with the repair at the time then you should have got back to them straight away.
Reality says they “repaired” your machine two years ago and you have not contacted them since, so as far as they are concerned there is no redress against them.
